I wish there was something I could say or do to help. :hugs:
I'm stressed with my 4 sickies and I can't imagine how you feel with so much more.
I'm sending you healing vibes and lots of love.
How many ratties do you have in the rescue and how many are sick? :(
You have a great many friends who are here for you.
Give your babies kisses for me with a few extra for Clemmie. :cuddle:

Poor baby! Do I understand that you have an oxygen concentrator now? Do you use that very often for them, or is that a last resort if they're panicking?
(I used mine once to keep my girl Lily comfortable until she could be PTS...)

I do have an O2 concentrator but yes I do use it for when they are having real issues and gasping. Jonah never gasped, until the last minutes of his life and I knew being put in there would have stressed him out too much.

I need to Agggggh!

Looks like Phase 1 is over for most, but now Phase 2 is beginning it seems. Pip has the same congested sneezing as Charity now. Poor Pipperdoodle. :undecided:

Lilspaz... can you remind me.. how many phases does this awful disease have to run its course? Was it two or three?
I'm gonna send you a small donation to help with further costs.. Hang in there!

I have no idea...SDA has a lot of bad information out there and they can give you the basics but not really what to truly expect. My guess is the virus sheds but the symptoms are still around for 10-14 days, then the secondary infections flare up. Clemmie is doing horribly...still active, eating, etc...but her lungs...how many different sounds can one rat's lungs make?

Quick update.

Charity's cleared up a LOT.
Pips stopped that same breathing...
The 3 older gals, Adella, Arista and Nala are bright and normal eyed again  Arista is loud loud loud but that's sort of a normal thing for her...eyes are very bright and they are more active again.
Melvin is relatively stable, lungs don't sound quite as horrific. ALL the Niagara Nakies still sound like uck, but aren't regressing anymoer.
Clemmie, with the addition of lasix is improving and has stopped sounding like she's going to drown any second.
Bella and Chilly are finally sounding a lot better :D

Everyone else has improved a lot and things are more normal here overall :joy:

:joy:

This is the best news I could have read today!!! I'm so happy and relieved for you and your remaining babies!!! Way to go, momma Shelagh!!! :hugs:

I just stumbled across this, but I am so glad that things are looking up! You really are amazing, these rats are truly lucky to have you looking after them. :)

I'm glad to hear that there has been improvement. I know the big sigh of relief that brings for us rattie parents, believe me. Still, to have to care and worry about so many...the stress of it can be overwhelming. Do you actually get any sleep, girl?

Really glad to know that things are looking up. Any improvement is always welcomed by us who love ratties. :joy:
