Hello, my name is Mal and I am a 35 year old single mom with a 6 year old daughter. We have been researching pets that we may be interested in owning and as I have owned rats in the past I am personally rooting for this choice. I was not allowed to own rats while with her father as he was not a fan and I wouldn't mind being the sole owner while she is at her fathers house. Any pet is a huge responsibility so first we are doing all the research we can into anything she is interested in and I remember this forum being an amazing source of information and resources.
I will admit I am kind of pushing for this choice as I feel they would be the most appropriate animal when compared to all of the small animal choices available. I am hoping to perhaps connect with a rescue that would be close to where we live so we could potentially visit and she could have some first hand experience as well. Anyway that about sums it up, cheers
