Hannah - Cabergoline - RIP :'(

Updates!

Hannah had her first dose of the Cabergoline 2 days ago, her next does is tomorrow.

Tonight:
Weight: 227 ..7 gram gain in 2 days.

Still slides off the couch, but catches herself before falling all the way ..2 days ago she would just fall.

No changes yet, but they are no bigger.

Tonight is her second dose.

 

Very fustrated tonight.

Hannah really does not like these pills.
Her first dose with the pill was the same ..I mixed it with what she has her baytril and pred in (apple sauce/pb/olive oil) ..but with the pill in it she would not touch it.
Tonight I dissolved it in water added some baby cereal and ensure ..she tried it and never wanted it.

Added some baby food in it ..and she has eaten some but not very much ..iv been trying for an hour now ..and she wont even look at the baytril or pred now.



looks like I'll be syringeing it into her from now on

Ya, it was like that with my sister's Maya. She just wouldn't take it. We had to hold the rat, gently scruff the neck and squirt in her mouth.

Update:

Hannah is still gaining weight.
She is able to fully clean herself without tipping over.
Her eyes are the same size now
Nipping is rare
She is able to hold her food with two hands (most of the time now) and she is holding it higher than before
The mammary tumors have not grown any ..but her second does was only 2 days ago.
every morining I go to the cage to give everyone treats ..the past while Hannah has been in the lower hammies, today I found her in the top hammie and when she seen the treats she got all excited ..prior to this she would just sit there and not look interested.

I'll post pictures later (I'm at work right now)

 

Lilspaz: I still have her on 0.5 pred. But se has been showing improvments for the last 6 days ..she has no decreased any ..should I lower the dose a little?

you can, just watch for regression.

 

I just want to do little amounts, so would 0.4 be okay?

pill night is again tonight, hopefully she gives me a break! :giggle:

 

Pill went good yesterday, just disolved it in water and scuffed her and fed by syringe, ,little by little ..I hate doing it this way because I am afraid she is not getting it all. She swallows, but by the end of it her chin is soaked with drool where it is gross tasting.
