It's usually their stash place yes but since I just cleaned the cage yesterday it's empty, I just took it away since I saw her having a staring contest with Jade again inside it...
Kaina sleep's with me where she wont be bothered during the night and where she won't hurt anyone, should I stop those?

So basically from now on I should take away any hide she tries to own?
It's being bothered, annoyed, followed and being told what to do that she hate's.
She walk's around plaintively squeaking now, I have half a mind of finding a new cage on kijiji and just putting her in with her true sister Aili (Kaina never ever touched her blood sister) or I can block the bottom half of my cage for a few day's, see if she feel's better with no one bothering her?

For months now not sure exactly how long but a long time

I put Kaina and Aili in the bottom half of the cage, since then it has been silence...is alone time what she wants?

Sounds like a real pickle, i would try to find a way to seperate the two, I'd hate for Jade to get hurt when she's already in a bad way, but this is just my opinion, hope it all works out for you

Maybe that is always an option, but from what I can see she act's normal (apart from the fighting lol)...she was always very spirited just now it bother's me more cause of how sick Jade is and she seem's to be Kaina's fav. punching bag!

Can rats look normal and be sick at the same time?

I would put this in a new thread in behavior honestly. this is a little bit more than a simple answer :) I know i have had rats own certain hammocks and I took them away, they would be alright. I had to put all the food under an igloo for one rat in order to keep track of the food. I have had to move rats out of a group in order to gain peace so this one may need a few ideas from others. Girls can be quick the buggers when it comes to getting them to act right but someone a oddly simple solution can be the answer to the problem.

Does she fight over the food? or just the igloo itself? Mally would lunge at my hand if i had it in her igloo where I kept her food.

Quick question on my end then:

My alpha, Gizmo, hoards food in their rat cubical. So every morning when I go to refill their rat bowls, it looks like they ate all their food, yet when i look in their cubical, its all hoarded away from my sights. This is becoming wasteful obviously, and no matter how many times i refill their bowls he just keeps hoarding it all back. Suggestions? Or just not worry about it. I knwo the boys are eating cause they get the food out of the cube or whats left in the bowls and they all have great body weight. And Gizmo isn't food territorial, just don't like that hoarding habit of his hehe.

Put the food bowl in the cubical itself. It worked for mally, she left the food in the bowl and would stash the veggies up there as well. Sometimes you have to control the hoard rather than stop it.

And to add a bit of fun, go into the cage several times a day to retrieve all the food and put back in the bowl. The rats will work tirelessly at putting it back. lol

I will have to find the video of on of mallys stashing moments it is funny to watc her run and run to take it from the floor to the top level of the cage

Thanks! I completely forgot about that thread!

Want to get some Rescue Remedy, but not sure which to buy. The site has the original, and an alcohol free variation. Does it matter which one I order? And does it work better rubbing on the ears, or taken orally?

Ratties should get the alcohol free one.
