I went to the gym, I'm trying to eat my lunch (not easy eating sushi with trembling hands...), I was quite calm up until now... It's almost time.

:praying:

and

:panic: :panic: :panic: :sad3:

*Keeps fingers crossed* Oh please let it be good news for your little boy! *prays for you and your ratties!* :gaah: this is nerve wrecking for me too cause this is exactly how im gonna feel when I have to put my little boy Dax through surgery! Gah :hugs: hang in there!

:panic:
I forgot again this morning chasing around the 3 year old! But then I remembered, looked at the clock & my stomach went flip flop!! :sad3:

oh man... please call in an hour or so with good news Dr. Beaulieu!

*fingers & paws crossed*

We're almost one hour into the procedure, and still no phone calls. Not allowing myself to hope yet, but...

:praying: frantically!!!!

I called the clinic at 3:20 as I am supposed to be in a call since 3:30 - Tanner was still on the table!

The vet just called me - it was an abcess BUT - the abcess was deeply tucked between his bladder and muscle and a total challenge to remove. She confirmed the procedure lasted the whole 2 hours, also said he lost A LOT of blood, so he is critical for the next 24 to 48 hours.

I'm gonna go pick up Hunter tonight since he will definitely not be keeping his brother company and if he is not too far off, I might be able to see Tanner briefly. Or should I leave Hunter there until tomorrow night (I have appointements) as they would put their cages next to one another? Confused :?

Sooooo... I'm halfway relieved - he's past 2 of the 3 critical stages. Now all I can do is wait and let him get better...

I would probably go get Hunter. Tanner might be out of it for the most part.
Praying real hard that he makes it past the last critical stage.

I have had some rats that needed to have company and some that would fight company. I would use your judgement when you see them and what they think. I do believe the touch and company can help with healing.

Well yay it was just an abscess!! He'll pull through! He's a strong, healthy young manrat so he just has to recover now. :)

:hugs:

at least he is through the majority of it... Now more waiting as he recovers. Waiting sucks though! lol
But I'd say go get Hunter if he can't be in with Tanner, so Hunter is back with his other buddies & Tanner may not want company. Just see how he's feeling in a bit!
