New Cage Pictures

The boys went from living in hamster cages in their old home, to a small rabbit cage here, to the rat resort starter cage to this one:

Lilspaz: the last two pics were yesterday, the third last one is today ..they feel like loose skin!

I wish all rats took their meds that easily.

He looks like a very happy ratty.

I understand loose skin under his chin and down his neck, but his cheeks? That confuses me.

 

When the tumor was there, his ears were even pulled down ..when he would lay down his mouth would always be open because the tumor was pulling his chin down!

This picture is the one that stuck out most, you could tell it pulled it down, which would make his cheeks get larger.

the other thing, in humans when they need extra skin, they put those bags in to to blow up slowly increasing it so the skin stretches. I remember seeing it on conjoined twins they were trying to separate, it amazed me that it was that easy to get extra skin. I think this tumor did the same thing to his skin in his cheeks and nexk.

How is Ryder feeling today?

 

He is great!

He must be able to do things other rattys take for advantage. I love how he can now fold his paws together now. He can rest his head in a more natural way. He probally can run faster. For Momma that may be NOT an advantage :lol: Does he seem confused or surprised about his movements? I know they show this like when my boys realized there was a 2nd floor to there cage...it was like oh whats up there surprised look.

Tinytippytoes: first when he was able ot climb the bars on the side of the cage or go on levels, he was very uncordinated haha ..and he loves sitting on his house (something he was unable to do with the tumor)
