Does anyone know anything on salivary gland tumors?

Yes I do. Considering Twiggy's was an infected salivary gland, rather than what we thought was a salivary gland tumour. There's actually no way that Ryder's tumour was a salivary gland tumour from the appearance and location. A salivary gland tumour would be right up against the neck/body and are not just slightly attached and hanging like that. If there had been multiple tumours I could possibly see salivary gland involvement, or maybe it started on his chest and grew up and affected the salivary gland.

So glad Ryder is home and doing well! Wonderful! :joy: :joy:

Can hardly wait to see the photos... :)

And congratulations on the adoption! Very exciting!!

Lilspaz he said the tumor looked like is started in the salivary glands, but it was so big it was hard to tell ..but it was attached in a very thin line from his chin to his chest and it looked like it started on the right side of the gland.

His weight now is 430 grams, Friday is was 540 grams ..so 120 gram loss ..but the tumor weighed 300 grams on the scale once removed ..not sure how that works lol ..so lilspaz he weighes 430 ..baytril is 25 mg/ml ..how much? twice a day?

Got some pictures, his cheeks have loose skin which makes him look like a chipmunk :giggle:

Acutally his cheeks are mostly skin that was stretched from the tumor! ..he is showing no signs of pain, grooming his face, running around with his brother, eating apples and ensure!

oh sweet boy. The second picture with his little hands like that is so sweet. He reminds me of my little granddaughter......she holds her little hands together when she is drifting off to sleep. Please give him some gentle kisses from me.....

*Shudders* That's some scary looking stitching! Poor little Franken-rattie. Looks like he's soaking up all those good vibes just fine though.

And congrats on your two new furkids!

I know, looks really bad! but Dr. D. did a nice job stitching it up! we have to go back April 20th - 6 days from now for a recheck!

Thanks for everything guys

I am absolutely thrilled! How wonderful that he is finally rid of that nasty bugger, & that his search for a forever home is over as well. Another truly heartwarming story.   Thanks so much to you for taking him in, sharing his story with us & allowing us all to be a part of it. :hugs:
