Yay!!!!! :bliss:
Your vet will soon be a pro at this.

 I think so! He has done the following for me so far:
7 neuters (1 heart attack, 1 complications 6 days later, the rest were fine)
1 Spay + 3 mammary tumor removals
1 small lumpectomy during Toby's neuter (he had a small mole type thing in that area)
and now Ryder's HUGE tumor.

I'll get him to be a pro soon enough :giggle:

The hubby just called! Ryder is home. The surgery was more invasive than they thought ..it was attached from the neck to the chest ..looks like it started in the salvary gland, but they did get all of it. He has to go back next Friday (April 20) ..he has one big stitch apparently (I have not seen it, just telling you what the hubby said). He was given pain meds after surgery, but not sent home with any nor sent with baytril ..I think he was given injectable baytril (I have to call them a check on my break). Pictures to follow!

ETA: he is up going aound with Badger :)

ETA: The tumor weighed 300 grams!!

ETA: He was not given any baytril nor sent home with any.but I do have some here. I will weight him when I get home. The amount I have is 25 mg/ml ..wieght unknown atm!

He may not need antibiotics after surgery, especially at that age. If you really feel more comfortable with abs, I would ask the vet for something other than Batryl so that he doesn't start becoming immune to it. That's just my opinion though. Glad to hear the surgery was successful.

Wow that means it weighted more than his real weight? It must have been very hard for him poor fella :( its so nice to hear that he is home :). Now I'm wondering does he still have dumbo ears LOL

You will need the ibuprofen if you don't have metacam. Its going to be quite an incision.

I think you said he weighed 480 grams prior to surgery, so now he only weighs 180 grams??

I do have IBP, but I can get metacam,

Weight I wont really know until tonight when I get home. he was 520 grams Friday when I weighed him, his brother was 4800 grams.

I have baytril pred and doxy here. He said I could use baytril if I wanted to

of course you adopted them - was there any real doubt - I think not! :joy: Wow that's a lot of weight to lose. Keep a close eye on him and give him lots of love!

:joy:  Awesome, awesome that Ryder is doing well without his 300g tumor!! :thud: Oh and you and hubby will love these two little dudes just like it was meant to be   You are very awesome peeps!
