You never fail to test my stomach. My hunch is that it looks positive. I just can't bring myself to say it looks good, as these sights never fail to turn my stomach... :sick2:
:yeah:

fascinating. A little on the :sick2: side but fascinating (yep... it takes a LOT to really turn my stomach. I should have been a surgeon!) :bunnydance:

Is that white spot actually infection or is it something else?

Overall I think it looks good. A bit of pus still, but there is tissue filling in the cavity, so that is an improvement from bare bone. The pus can drain, so that's good too. Can you mix her meds with anything so she will get the full dose?

Hahaha, I tried that. No go...the forced syringing actually works the best, I just make sure that I account for droolage :laugh4:

I don't know how you do it hun  I'd be just distraught seeing that. I'm so glad these babies have you!
I hope the puss drains out for her and she stops giving you such a hard time with the meds :giggle:

Evening grody pics

The scab was hanging on by a stitch, so I carefully cut it. The ball of solid pus looks to be attached to the remaining scab and should pop out when the scab comes off on its own...YAY!!! There's a very very light smell of infection...like trying to smell an abscess through the skin.

She's doing great though

Now that I think about it, the ball of hard pus in her eye looks *exactly* like my first encounter with cellulitis. Basically it had gone untreated for longer (I learned very quickly when it was cellulitis, thus to go in to urgent care), and it had formed just that kind of ball of pus. The skin had sort of come off the 'hole' at that point, so it looked a lot like that. And sure enough, a pus 'turd' came out, 1cm long and 0.5 cm thick. My calf has largely returned to normal - if I'm careful checking though, I can still feel the faintest indentation from the toll that infection took, years later.

Basically (sorry I rambled!) I agree with your assessment, Shelagh - when the scab comes off, the opening should be wide enough for the 'turd' to come out easily and without a lot of hassle.

This morning. Siana on Goose suggested that the white ball may also be a filler they use to fill the cavity before they close it up. I told Lilith this morning "I love you, but don't touch me with that thing"
The smell of infection is even less, and she was much better about her Metro. She looks for the yogie right after :)
