MRRG's Belle's baby thread- 5 weeks old going to homes

I didn't get any pictures yesterday 'cause I worked 8am-7pm then went to my mom's for a little xmas stuff seeing how I missed the rest of the day with the family. I dont think Ang got pictures. I'll get her to take some today.

The markings are so neat the ones we thought are hooded are more capped mismarked. The markings on their backs are a few big dots or a blob lol I think there was only 3 or 4 with the markings and some for sure Agouti's.

We have an adopter for two boys already and he's from my area! Finally some more rat lovers around Moncton!

Those are cute names tanya for the xmas names

I'm thinking of maybe just keeping the numbers on them like we did for camilla's girls 'cause then the adopters are the first to give them their names and they'll start to know them well.

We'll name them if we still have some with us.

Wow was I ever wrong on the sexes lol I got them backwards some how! We have for sure 7 boys and 5 girls.

The babies are doing really great they're all so plump and they're really starting to scoot around! I think these guys will have their eyes open early I bet by the looks of them. Belle is doing really great and has stayed at 390g which seems to be a healthy weight for her right now where she's providing for the babies. The kid that had the huge scar doesn't have it anymore pretty much the day after so I'm not sure which one it was lol Doesn't look like he'll be having the name Scar Jo.

cannot wait for the fuzziness to start...I know you already have homes for a cpl boys...have they chosen which ones yet? I want to chose some!!!
My kids think the boy thats all dark (maybe berk)...probably agouti would be a nice color addition... :giggle:
Since we have 2 smeezers, 1 himi, 2 black hooded, 2 nekkies, 1 beige, and 1 black self...they think 1 agouti berk would be different...
But we would be happy with any really...

Here are Day 6 pics. I'm a day behind again lol. I'll get day 7's pics later I have a lot of cleaning to do!

The fuzz is starting to come in and you can't really see in the pics but some of the light kids are starting to get faint hoods! So weird! It amazes me that there are any hoods at all where the mom is a Smeez and dad is an Agouti berk lol He's doing great in his new home and already loves his new friend So happy for him.

Some of the light babies have really dark eyes. Does this mean they might have dark eyes or just deep ruby eyes?

Oh someone was right (Godmother?)! That one hooded boy I love is going to be a black hooded... look at the tone difference in the second picture between him and his agouti brothers.

My friends petstore litter in 2004 was 5 agouti berks, 1 black berk, 2 agouti selfs and 1 agouti hooded. Momma was an agouti berk.

I really wonder if the babies will turn out to be ruby smeezes, or even a dark eyed smeeze? Those faint hoods could fade right? :heart: Keep these pics coming! How awesome to see how quick they change.

I think that those light babies with dark eyes may end up being beige /fawn. My smeezes have pink eyes and they looked like PEWS until around 7 weeks of age. Can smeezes have dark eyes?

oh yeah, His Dark colours aren't on his belly his belly and part of his sides a bit are pink right now. I'm uploading pics for today.

My smeeze babies (brother and sister) came to me and were fawn/beige hooded but withing a cpl weeks they were smeezers! Peanut has dark eyes and Cookie has Ruby eyes.
My Himi boy came to me as PEW and within a cpl weeks had a smudge nose!
Amazing to watch them transform.
