Anyone Second?

I totally never seen this till just now!
Thanks-You ..Momma sure does appriciate it :D

Okay! so I JUST remembered that the day before this event ..mom fell out of the FN ..but was fine ..could this have something to do with all of this???
Im not sure how she landed ..but her perception was off before this ..so maybe she had a stroke when I was not around?

:sad3: :sad3: :emb: :emb:

I'm dying, I don't know what to do :sad3:

Oh boy... I wonder if it's swelling on the brain due to the fall tha might have caused her to become so lethargic.
Hopefully, she'll recover fully.

It's still all speculation at this point.

I guess baytril & pred are still the best things for her?

Update:

Momma is alot more active today & eating more. She still cannot seem to see out of her right eye & still is weak on that side (not as much as 2 days ago)..but seems to be adjusting.

Her Medicine Schedule Goes like this:
Night of the event (day 1) - Baytril 0.22 ml & Pred 0.15 ml (night time)
Day 2- Pred 0.1 ml (noon), Pred 0.28 ml Baytril 0.22 ml (night time)
Day 3 - Baytril 0.22 ml Pred 0.28 ml (night time)
Day 4 - Today - Nothing Yet

Should I change the pred or baytril, or keep it the same still?? (Lilspaz??)

Some pic's from this morining:

I have moved her into a smaller cage (big enough for 2 rats) with Hannah ..as she feels the most safe with her ..I tried other ..but she was jumpy ..Hannah guides her around and snuggles with her. I have a cube made by Nicklerat hung in the cage at ground level so she loves it ..I think she feels safe in it ..as it's small (her and Hannah have been curled up in it all morining). I also have blocks and a water bottle and dish in there ..and for bedding I have a fleece blanket. Hannah dose not seem to mind ..she gets lots of out time because everytime momma comes out she does too and she still gets to have playtime with everyone else while mom has her meals <3

Joanne, I totally second and believe Sophie definitely deserved to be the most RPOM nominated rat!!!

Ratty Momma, just found your thread and I sure do feel for all you've been going through - I lost my heart rat last week and he too was my second ever rat... I'm so happy Sophie is perking up so well!

She's looking great and way more active. It's shocking to see her the day of the event and scary.
That eye is bothersome though. Did the vet say anything about the eye?

No. When I took her in ..he looked at her eye and noticed it was bigger and the pupil was smaller ..and said the event I described sounded like a stroke and that he is suspecting its PT. So he said to start her on pred and baytril 0.1 ml each.

My vet is only now experienced in resp medications thanks to me. Not a whole lot of people in newfoundland take their rats to the vet, they don't care enough about them ..he is experienced in tumor removals/neutered and spays ..but alot of people here ..if they had seen what happend ..would think they just were old an dying ..they dont think rats are worth the money for medications, etc.
Thats why I always come tou your guys regarding medications ..and then when I figure it out ..I tell my vet ..he reaseaches and writes it all down. He is a cat/dog vet and a mildly experienced rat vet ..but is very good with bunnies and pigs. But he is the best I have ..he tries ..he learns with me.

To me, it looks as her eye is gotten a little bit smaller than what it was. She still can't seem to see out of it ..but she dose not pick at it.

Lilspaz, what do you think about her eye?
