Will they ever get along?

Ok here is one video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyeC03zJ0GI

I can't ever take a video when they're doing something, but they were doing the in the house thing cleo trying to play im pretty sure, and violet telling her to go away, for like 20 minutes or so off and on. Cleo will lightly bite VI's head, or tail, or butt, and then run away, im pretty sure it's like going 'chase me!'. but Vi says no. Sorry part is upside down and sideways lol.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOtSjoSgk-I this was the first one i took. Ignore my talking >< I am prone to talking like a baby to the baby or animal... Cleo didn't really want to play, usually she'll come back sideways at me and 'bite' me and run like she does with Violet so i'm sure it is playing. Which is aweeeeeesome. Sorry about the dog, she's annoying and when they are out, she is RIGHT there and wont go away. I was so amazed too at Violet going on the wheel!

side note: I noticed Violet does the still, sideways thing, which is aggression right? I put them back in a couple minutes ago.

Violet is not being aggressive, she's being dominant. Looks like she's quite annoyed by Cleo.
When Cleo squeaks, she's protesting, not hurting.
How old is Violet? She really doesn't want to accept Cleo. And Cleo really wants to play.

Violet is almost two. I didn't figure she was being aggressive, but i know the going sideways think WAS an aggression trait, and yes Cleo really wants to play. I've never seen Violet play, even with her sister when she was younger. She reminds me of an old lady getting annoyed by a whipper snapper, or my dog with a puppy. Do you think they will be able to house together?

They will need several more intros. Too bad you can't get another young girl for Cleo. Sometimes it can help with intros...that way Cleo would have her young friend and all three could live together.

I thought about it, but I think it'd be just as much 'fun' for Violet, tag teamed and having to get used to two different ones. Yeah i figured more intros. I haven't tried to put them back in a cage together, last time didn't go so well as Violet thinks everything is hers, and chases after Cleo a little more violently than in the videos, and last time cleo tried to escape through the top of the cage and got her head stuck. You can tell at that time that violet was angry.

The thing with having two babies is that they will leave the older girl alone because they will have each other to play with. Violet can do her thing and yet still have her "babies" to mother or bully, which ever she prefers.

Yes it is. I'd love to get a FN or CN cage but I can't even pay all my rent this month, ive been looking at those cages basically since i have had rats. I'd like to live in one :) I'm hoping we can get her to like Cleo, i guess i shouldn't have been so worried about Violet being alone, obviously she doesn't care. I think she just misses her sister, would be hard to go most your life being with the same person and then suddenly she's gone. Especially since Violet thinks she just left, and didn't die.

Ya, Violet could very well still be grieving. Poor old girl.

I think it's possible. She seems mostly like her own self except is more sleeping than what I was used to, but I guess theres not much to do with yourself. She still is herself when I let her out, sleeps on me after half an hour or so, which is my favorite time. She still hates being picked up or pet 95% of the time, unlike Cleo who is beginning to love scritches, I so love her, so different from Violet. I could smooch her all day. lol

I took Violet and Cleo out tonight but they were not getting along, Violet did NOT like cleo taking up her mamas sweater, so I was going to put them back, but thought maybe if I put them in Cleos cage (took out all food and houses) ( i haven't switched in a while because of Violets foot), since it was Cleo's territory maybe it would work, but noooooooo was a constant chasing by Violet. I have a feeling Violet is like those horses that are tough to break...

Ugh. I feel so bad for each of them, stressing out old Violet, and poor terrified Cleo. I just want them to be friends! I'm so frustrated.

We are all in the play pool. So far Cleo has stayed away from Violet. Violet seems comfortable, eating a piece of bread. But it's only been maybe ten minutes.

Side question, Cleo is shedding her baby fur oddly I've attached a photo. I'm going to get ivermectin on Friday and treat for mites, I've had good success with that and it's cheap. Also, I think the stress of the new roommate is making Violets myco act up only around her eyes, as you can see in the next pic. (Somehow the pic didn't attach and now it's lost) & she's got a scratch above her eye I'm assuming from dominance fighting with Cleo.

She's moulting which should place her at about 4 months old.
But doing a treatment is always a good idea, especially if you see scabs.

No scabs, but violet has always had oily skin, yellowish all over like a male would have, but I've never seen scabs, no intense itching. Do rats molt like dogs? Baby fur, then once or twice a year like spring and fall?
