I get ovarian cysts all the time but mine are small and for my small ones to be as painful as they are, I can just imagine what poor Shade must have been going through.

Do you agree on this being the cause of her regression?

seriously, huh? It hurts just to look at those, poor girl!

I also have ovarian cysts and they hurt but poor shade must have been in pain.
R.I.P. Shade. :cuddle:
The only thing that will hurt now is the unfortunate ratty who tries to steal your food. :giggle:

I would definitely think so.

Good lord in heaven...

If it wasn't the ovarian cysts (which scream primary cause), I would say the adrenal tumor would have definitely done it - I have adrenal insufficiency myself, and before the idiot doctors figured out what it was, I was in a terrible state. The American doctor I finally went to see actually came out halfway through reviewing my files to give me hydrocortisone (it was a blind test, just a 'try these pills', but he was desperate to raise my levels lest I drop dead in his waiting room - that was how bad off I was).

Poor, poor Shade baby. At least she's resting now.

I'm trying to remember if it was in regards to this, but are most rats found to have some PT action by the end of their lifespan, even if it isn't enough to show symptoms? (I could be thinking of something else though)

You're right Patricia, most rats have small PT's going on, but may never show the symptoms,I refer to these as latent PT's...these are the ones that often get kicked into high gear after anesthetic.

Well, I guess we all knew Shade would be leaving you soon, but poor girlie! She really needed a spay when she was a baby to get her through most of this stuff. Sweet lovey, we will miss her....
