Emo as defined by my 16 year old son: a person that is emotionally challenged, enjoys depressing and sad music, thinks life sucks, usually wears dark clothing.
In my time, we called them goth.

Ya, no country music for them.
I noticed it changed from goth to emo when my oldest entered grade 9. That was 5 years ago. But it could have been before that too.
