I have started weighing many girls who may have come into contact with my little intact "wild" boy on Thursday night and Friday night (girls just in case, since you don't want to miss it). Then I realized I needed new batteries so did my 2nd Weigh-in's on Saturday and Sunday. They both showed huge discrepancies from the first "old battery" weights but there was some significant gain for about 5 girls :sad3:
tonight I shall weigh the most likely girls again and should have a better idea since this will be then 2nd time with the new batteries.

As a pre-emptive thing I have booked e-spays, 1 for Thursday and 1 for Friday. IF I see another gain tonight, then I shall weigh daily and have a good idea who needs to go first and second. Wish me luck everyone drops weight tonight! :cheeky:

My nerves are just a wee bit frayed right now.

Oh no!! I pray that no one got pregnant! Will a vet make you wait until you are positive they aren't for surgery?

The goal of the e-spay is to teminate the pregnancy before it gets to far along by spaying so if they arent preggers then they wont need to be spayed (I think thats what you were asking? lol)

23 had a possibility of contact...nothing guaranteed but I have to weigh 23 on the Likely night, and the rest (less spayed girls, neutered boys) on the Unlikely night just in case. :undecided:

*gulp* time to start weighing the Likely's again.

Yikes!!!!!!!!
Well, it is nearing Christmas time..........you might need to call for some donations........or, do you have a credit card? What's the limit? Hmmmm......$200 x 23 = $4600
How many days would it take to do 23 spays?
Yikes!!!!!!!

Did you see what sex the other one was?

Significant weight gains over 2 days.

Beige Girl 2 - 1 of the fosters from Cherie (15 mo) - 11 g
Molly (13 mo) - 10 g
Bianca (8 mo) - 10 g
Smoosh (7 mo) - 13 g
Scooshee (7 mo) - 10 g
Inky ( 7 mo) - 7 g

How did it happen though? I mean you let the girls free roam around with out watching  ? Sorry i just wondered how it exactly could happen if they can not mate from the bars >.< or thee male was small enough to go into the bars?

Ether way im so sorry this is happening to you :sad3: And you must be going :panic: right about now :(

I so wish you the best of luck that not many or none are prgeo :cuddle:

I think that skinny little guy could easily fit through the FNs? What do you think Shelagh? Also, the apartment is pretty much ratty playground and if you don't know you have an intruder, you don't watch every single rat to see if they are getting it on. :giggle:

i've asked lj to contact my Secret Santa, and ask that any money towards my gift go to Dr.Munns office.
:cuddle:

I know from being at Shelagh's place, her males are ALL neutered when they first get there, done within the week.
She allows the livingroom rats to free range, the couch, and some venture off of the couch while running around.
So that's where this unfortunate, unwelcomed guest could have struck it 'lucky' :(
Many of us do allow free ranging, I know I do at play times.

This is a time when we should be supportive to our fellow member, She sure does ALOT for rescues, and sickies, and I for one will donate all I can to help her out, I know she'd do the same had this happened to me.
:hugs:

All MY males are neutered, but I caught a little wild rat in my apartment last week, there's a saga about it in Rat Tails...

Yeah but for some reason I don't think little ratman went into the bedroom...tooo scary! I think if a wildie went into a cage in the middle of the night, there would be some real screeching going on, plus I have the barricade up when the rats are out. Btw I have recently discovered that ratboy was NOT the brave one I have been seeing. That one looks a bit different as I have been watching "her" all night. Misu slipped over the barricade before I shut the door and was sniffing at the table cover near the corner end table. I saw a little teeny head poke out (maybe 3 mo?), kept sniffing her, and she would poke at it, and it would sniff her some more, like it was lonely. Then Misu grabbed a cheerio that someone had flung on the floor during my weigh-in's (gotta bribe 'em to stay still) and started bouncing away and the wee one tried to follow...shorter more triangular head than the boy, different shape, smaller, more compact. When "she" realized she was exposed she ran back under the end table. Later on I had Max out on the floor and he was harrassing the wild rat. I lifted the cover, called Max out, and the wee one came out halfway towards me, and just leaned and watched me. Not wildrat behaviours with this one either.

Do you know how much your e-spay will cost?

Actually no I don't. I'll find out on Thursday. I don't like to ask because I know Dr Munn will do everything he can to keep the price low as possible. At this point it looks like Smoosh will be first going in if she continues to gain steadily. I'm glad they waited for my Good Cheque. :laugh4:
