How is Little Miss doing today?

 

She is okay, might be going to the vet again tomorrow, the swelling is down a little ..but her eye still smells bad!

Ug, that's down? It looks like it's spreading across the bridge of her nose...

 

It's not over her nose ..that's just the angle I took the picture. It is gone down, not much ..she only had it done monday ..I do expect some swelling for the first few days..but I am a little concerned ..I have to call down to the clinic tomorrow and get them to have a look ..her eye smelled bad before she went in and got the abscess drained ..and it still smells now ..oh my.

I have her on Baytril 50 mg/ml ..she is 300 grams and I am giving her 0.1 ..maybe it's not enough?

The dosage is fine.

I think it needs to be lanced not just drained, so it can drain on its own. Definitely sure it's only under the eye?

I forgot to say it was lanced when I brought her home :wallbang:

 

I'm waiting for a call back from my vet, he is in surgeries until 12, then appts 5 to 8 tonight ..I dear say ill be going down tonight!

 

Going down at 6:20 ..so much stress! I thought we were home free once we found out it was an abscess and it was lanced + drained + cleaned ..my poor girl!

Thanks! I hope we can find a way to get this thing gone ..seems kind of pointless to keep putting her (they out her completly out after like for a surgery) out if it's going to keep coming back ..hard on her and my pocket (not that I care about spending the money ..I'll spend whatever I need to to make her happy and healthy)

Myself & Dr. D lanced the abscess again tonight ..it is right under her eye ..we froze her eye with drops, and then took a surgical tool and dug out all the curds ..and flushed out her eye with saline using a catheter. We got sent home with freezing drops and the catheter with saline. When he did it Monday, he got all he could but I guess it loosened up more. So now the hole is reopened and we have to flush her eye multiple times a day ..I must say it was pretty intense ..an experience for sure.
