He looks like an interesting mink merle to me and momma Juno is definitely mink. Some minks have dark ruby eyes, some have black...she looks so much like my Chenoa did.

Gorgeous munchkins there Anne

Have you started weighing Juno yet? Every day at the same time, and record those weights so we can help you interpret :D

I shall start the weighing tomorrow once i move the batteries from the remote into the scale :)

do you guys recommend pictures in daylight to try and capture their "natural" colour? esp for his adoption foto?

The flash makes him look blue, and the weird bathroom light makes him look .... weird..... lol i should try to get it as true as I can to his real colour right?

I'll start a weight chart and we'll see - she just finished some eggies and veggies :)

All our minks here have had ruby eyes and we've had plenty when my mom picked up 3 pregnant girls. lol

Taking pics during the day is much better, helps the camera not get grainy too.

I know it's not feasible inside a house that well, but I read once that the best light to stay 'true to colour' is a 'bright overcast day' like a cloudy day at around noon when the sun is still high so it's still light out. If you have a large window anywhere and a day like that you should get more accurate photos.

Should I be trying to calculate a due date?
Im going to get her out for a weight tonight, and maybe take a couple pictures to show you (if i dont freak her out too much)

If she had her first litter a couple weeks ago (lets say 2?) but then they took her babies.... (#$&$!!!!) i guess they could have put her in back with the male right away, or....any time between then and now.....

i should be trying to figure this out just incase right? I guess technically she could still resorb also....

i hope you dont mind if i post her weight and fotos for your opinions later tonight...

We don't mind... in fact we insist on daily updates. :giggle:

My Prue was kept with her hubby 2 weeks after giving birth and she never got pregnant again so there's hope!!

If she's gaining weight, then she's definately preg. Don't worry about a due date.

Tonight's weight: 260g

when she stretches up in her cage she does look like shes swallowed a ping pong ball. but only when she stretches - so it doesnt show at the sides...

i guess we shall wait until tomorrow nights weight to see..... uploading pictures....(if any turned out)

Alien videos to show you how much those bubbers move and let you know "WE are COMING!"

yikes Shel - after i saw Sweetie I was all "ok, ok, i can see that happening" and then came Lillith - poor dear!

last night's obligatory weight check was 255g so down!

(still obviously feeding for pregnancy etc and giving nesting materials etc etc right?)

also - if she was pregnant - could she be resorbing them at this point (I realise that a 5g difference is not a OMG the world is ending freak out, it happens) but I know its hard on mom - is there anything else I should be/could be doing for her to make this process (whichever/whatever process it may be - easier on her?)

Cityratt, i've got someone intrested in Bleaker hun, she just adopted a neutered male through me, and is loking for another male to intro to her group. She doesn't have ANY girls, but has 4 neutered males, as they were all aggressive.
She's passed MY adoption application form, what would you like me to do at this point hun?
:hugs:

REALLY?! !! does she want more info on him?

Where is she located? would she like me to try introing him to my v. mellow boys and see how he does (just to give us an idea of how he'd be?)

knowing you trust her with one of yours makes me feel so much better!!

squeee
