Same. The eye protrudes a bit, and its definitely smaller, but her attitude is great. You should see these oldsters boogie, they put rats half their age to shame...

I'll take pics later on, I am having a bad week, between Portia (not dealing well for some reason) and work stresses.

I understand completely. Take care of YOU too OK? There's only so much one person can handle. :gaah:

Thanks Tara. :)

I managed to take pics of the squirmy beast tonight. You can see the damage and protrusion pretty clearly.

Here's a typical pic

We tried to get pics for quite awhile until I finally pulled out a yogie. Ignore the poor nails/fingers...I am not sure which rat got really sick and I haven't been able to grow them back yet.

You kidding?

My fingernails look like that ALL the time. I'm a biter, what can I say. 8) I even chew the cuticles when I run out of nail.

Well, she looks pretty good considering. And at least you know she's free of infections. Since she's been on her meds. Did you ever get rid of the retarded substitute vet?

Not yet. My good vet is open after Nov. 2oth and I emailed her for an appointment for the following Saturday, but not for Bella...

I had to take Portia to him to be pts, he's really cheap and I can hold thr rat and help gas them down...which isn't too bad, and is much better than a stranger. I think he will have his uses if you know what I mean?

Yeah, I guess help is help.

I'm sorry about Portia... I wish our little ones lived longer... But maybe that would just make it hurt more...

You only get so many heartbeats in this world, but I'm sure what comes after is much much better. :love6:

New pics...it keeps changing on me. The colour is going back to that yellowish dead colour again at times. Of course she was squirmier than usual so only a few pics turned out and the first one was very over-exposed.

It means that it's JUST the eye, not the surrounding tissue. Which is good, because losing an eye isn't so bad, but an infected eye-socket or problems with the surrounding tissue are more complicated to fix than just removing an eye. Not to say she needs that done yet. Probably just taking it's time healing.
