WOW!!! Poor Bella!!! She must have really gotten a full claw in the eye!

Thank God she is healing so beautifully. What glorious animals Rats are. They pick up, and carry on in practically every situation, as if everything were peachy keen.

I hope I am reincarnated as a rat.

I think the best part is That Vet told me that it was not a good prognosis for her, and not to expect it. He told me that they eye was practically gone. He is waiting for my call to tell him she needs to be euthanized. LOL

I cant believe the vet said that. Like I said, my girl's eye was possibly worse than Bella's there and hers got better too. Bella still has a ways to go before her eye's ALL better. But I wonder why your vet thought she needed to be put down? Kind of worrysome. Makes you wonder if he knows much about eye injuries.

Morning pic of Bella (now that I have internet again)

Its not quite healed yet, but judging by her behaviour she considers it over and done with. She was running and exploring the living room floor like she always did.

It looks 90% better! Such a drastic improvement. And it only took about a week, right? I think your substitute vet is a hack... what a loser. How do you think her vision is? If you pretend your going to tap the eye with a finger does she move her head or blink? I bet she can see out of it now. :D

Is she on an antibiotic? She probably needs to be. It almost looks like a little infection going on there. The previous pic looked like improvement. Mabey she agitated it somehow? Scratched it again? :(

Poor baby. Well, setbacks happen. Dont lose hope!

For some reason I think the Tobrex might be harming it rather than helping. I am about to look it up and was thinking of changing to the triple ab eye ointment instead.

She is on baytril BID for any infection.

We will keep plugging away here. :)

Is it the same as the last pic for this morning?

Just did the Rounds (morning check on all, and meds)...same as yesterday, possibly not quite as protruding. *Whew*

I'll keep her on the Tobrex since its a common eye ointment for injuries (thanks ratguide!)
