If they grab your finger by mistake, don't pull it away. Just wait - they will figure out quickly that they can't carry your finger away, and will let go and start licking. One of my old girls is VERY enthusiastic about food, and will grab sometimes, but it's never hard enough to break the skin.
Have fun! Blueberry yogurt is a great idea!

I had a few boys latch on and try to pull my finger to their fav spot but they let go and caught on after a few minutes that biting the hand with the food isnt a good thing.

Hi again Buster!
I just caught up on all these posts and it sounds like you are making nice progress with your girls! By the way, THANK YOU so much for taking the girls out of that horrible feeder bin...gaah, I hate people using rats as food for snakes...

Yeah, your girls will easily learn about licking your fingers and no worries about any bites...even when they are young and learning, the most you might ever expect is an accidental tug on your skin with their teeth, but not any actual bites. It is all good. :D

I still can't find the photos of Static and Shock? I went to the Gallery section but it was the Ratty of the Month Photos there...did I look in the wrong forum area?

yes im very happu with them they are doing great eating yogurt off my fingers im very nervous of them so the yougurt helps me in a way trust them and they learn to trust me. they should be in the gallery hm

I am so glad they are doing well and it looks like you are being very patient and loving with them. I am sure they love you more each day and trust you more each day. Terrific! And I saw that you already got nibble groomed, yay!! :joy:

I am sure your pictures are in the right place and I am just a dork that can never find stuff on forums, ha ha. I will keep looking!

That is terrific news Buster!! I am sure they learn to trust and love you more each day. Hooray! :joy:

Ha ha, well that means your boyfriend is a good guy and rats can sense that he is kind and safe to be with, so good for your boyfriend! A big compliment coming from the ratties!

And, no worries, I know how you feel! My boys ADORE my husband and one of my boys gives special licks and kisses to my husband, way more than he gives me those kisses and licks (and nibble grooms!) and I always say, "Man, I am jealous!" Ha ha.

lol its ok I just wish my daughter would learn to be a little more quiet she gets excited and so they get nervous still shes 4 I had one is a critter carrier and my boyfriend had the other I had to clean the cage it smelled.

Yeah, little kids have to learn to be gentle and quiet with animals, especially it seems with small animals, like rats. They can get really scared with a little kid grabbing and squealing over them.

shes great with large animals but she just gets excited and talks to loud that's what bothers them she doesn't really grab them just to loud but they are doing great wish they weren't so fast someone almost escaped on me the other day

Oh well that is good that she has been taught not to grab! :D Just need to work on the loud voice thing with her, huh? She will get better!

the first thing I did when she learned to crawl was "do nice" when I lived with my mom I had 5 cats one who had a litter of kittens and 2 dogs I didn't want her to be like some kids I know that grab animals although mine didn't mind lol she carries the cats around the house and they like it

Aww, that is so cool that you taught her at a young age not to grab..so awesome. :) And your cats like when she carries them around, so cute! :D
