RTR Update...Malcolm has Skin Issues

The 3 remaining RTR's that live together are doing relatively well, except for Malcolm. I have to check for penis plugs now, and his nasty skin on his back, keep coming back. Today I figured out that the fur is coming out anyways, so I carefully picked at it and the coat came off too easily...he was so itchy. Baths horrify him, so the less fur to get gunky the better right?

I have never seen anything this severe before, but as I told Jenny...he's an RTR. :roll:

But he does love his new Comfy hammocks made by from Nickelrat and from Crumbilina :heart: :heart: ...the boys are going to be so warm and cozy...once they stop exploring!

I love that cage! If Martin's cages were cheaper to get in Canada, I would so get one as my spare cage.

Poor Malcolm Have you tried dry shampoo for him? You would need to brush/comb it out (I would think a toothbrush or baby brush would suffice) so he may lose more hair but it may not be as stressful.

it is soo thick and gooey and nasty that I don't think the waterless shampoos would make a dent. I had some here from Dr Munn but it was only good for milder issues.

The fur plucking did really well, his back is not all gunked up anywhere near as much. By now I would be bathing him and it looks good! BUT he is having penile issues, and penis plugs, but more. There also looks to be abscesses beside his penis...I think he's just rife with infection. I likely will spoil him this weekend and let him go next week...but he's sooo happy otherwise. :sad3:
