- The fact that I can never be to work before 8:00 on days that I've spent the night at my boyfriend's place
- Showers that have crappy water pressure
- People who give away pets because they've lost interest or don't have the time for them anymore
- Stupid people
- Idiot drivers
- Window companies that insist on working on the windows of the office during business hours... and make a racket while doing so
- Not being able to get to sleep when I'm really tired
- Getting up early for work
- Friends that only call you up when they have nothing else to do and expect you to drop everything for them
- Gas prices
- Teeth dragging across a metal eating utensil (makes my teeth hurt)
- Smelly people
- Bad breath
- When my boyfriend comes to my house and leaves his clothes/things/dishes laying around my house when I make sure to clean up after myself when at his
- People who put dishes in the sink and leave them there. Rinse them off and set them off to the side at least!
- People who don't put their cell phones on vibrate when at the office/movie theatre/church.... wherever

... I could continue but I would be here all day.

What are your pet peeves?

-people who don't tie their dogs.
-small children running around screaming and parents not doing a thing about it.
-hairballs
-when my internet goes down.
-when my son uses my computer/camera/cellphone without asking.
-fast food commercials.

...there's more but my brain is slowly being drained by worry.

1. People who respond that they could be doing something so much worse, to try and excuse why they are doing something that is not the right thing to do in the first place. That always floors me.
2. People who allow their children to misbehave in public and ruin things for everyone else.
3. Smart women who like to play the stupidity card to try and get away with something that they know isn't right. Men too, but it especially gets to me when it is a woman.
4. The cellphone thing in restaurants and cinemas.
5. Getting onto Sympatico technical support and having them screw with my computer so badly that I need to hire a mobile geek to come out and fix it, when it was Bell's problem to begin with.
6. Paying every month to have an unlisted telephone number, request that Rogers, the banks and Bell do not call me but use email to communicate with me, and still get them calling me to solicit me almost every single day - always around dinner. That is why I use an external answering machine and screen all my calls.
7. People who move out of the city and into places like Stouffville to get away from the concrete jungle and 'get back to nature' and then take every opportunity to kill or get rid of every animal and insect that comes anywhere near their property.
8. People who kill creatures because they fear them, instead of just leaving them alone to exist like the rest of us want to do - especially when those same people condemn people who kill rats. Same thing - different pest.
9. The amount of power outages that occur in Stouffville. It is ridiculous. This summer, we had them on almost a daily basis.
10. People who screw others in order to fulfill their own agendas and get ahead in life, because they lack the character to succeed any other way.
11. People who pick on defenseless members of society. They go well beyond being just a 'peeve', they earn my burn in hell smilie...
:blobfire:

One of my major peeves is when I'm on the bus and all the highschool students get on... I have nothing against teenagers, but it peeves me off when you get a few students in that age range who think its hilarious to be rude, yell, push, run, and even talk back against the bus driver when they ask people to 'move back' on the bus to make room for more people.

My other peeve related to the bus is when people use profanity very loudly, so everyone can hear. Or openly talk about their drinking, smoking, and drug related habits in the same fashion.

-Recently, one of my pet peeves has become drivers who use the fog lights on their vehicles even when it isn't foggy. The headlights on many cars are already too bright and the fog lights just add to the problem.
-People who park their cars illegally in shopping mall parking lots because they're too lazy to find a regular parking spot like the rest of us.
-People who pass me while I'm driving and then proceed to drive slower than I was originally going when they get ahead of me.
-Unsolicited calls from telemarketers - especially those that use recorded announcements so you can't talk to anyone to be removed from their call list. Telemarketers who block their company name and real phone number from appearing on my phone when they call are incredibly annoying too.

- People who turn their signal light on right when they are about to turn into the place they are going! I hate that to all end!
-People who are on the bus and don't give their seat up to an older person or someone with a small child. This especially annoys me when I was at university because all the university students would be on the bus and then this old guy comes on and none of them move. I was already standing so there was nothing I could do but be annoyed and watch this 80 yr old stand on the freakin bus. grrr
-Pet Store employees who know jack all about what they're doing.
-People who decide to sit at the green arrow and wait about 50 times for it to blink and then decide Oh I think I'll turn now
-People who bring their young kids to an adult movie and let them cry and scream and go on and don't take them out of the movie.
-People who do not use the proper names for someones race, such as calling a First Nations person a Indian
-People who try and force their religion on others

I'm sure there are lots more lol I just can't think of any more but these are the ones that drive me nuts!

My biggest hugest pet peeve is "black" vs. "African American". I once had a teacher argue that African American was a race, when in fact, it's an ETHNICITY. How hard is that to get? Like, my sister is half black, but she is American. She did not come from Africa, neither did either of her parents or grandparents. That's like calling myself an Irish American. Nope, just American. My "race" is white. (Which is a stupid way to catagorize anyone in the first place, since there are only 3 (Mongoloid, Negroid, and Caucasoid) and there are tons of people who don't fit into any or just one of those categories based on physical characteristics (ie: Indians. Darker skin tone, but fine/untextured hair. Not black, not white.)) Well I can go on for ages, but it just bugs me. Ethnicity vs. race is not a hard thing to understand yet people can't seem to grasp the concept. I'm not saying everyone has to be PC, but don't argue with me when I call my own sister half black and not half African American. It's not derogatory, it's correct.

*cough*

-People chewing with their mouths open. It's not hard.
-Teeth grinding. I know it's not something you can help, but OMG. It is horrendous. My niece does it and it's all I can do to not wake her up.
-People who fav and run on Deviantart.
-People who can't control their kids in public. I KNOW bad days happen, and sometimes there is nothing you can do. But to blatently ignore your child's misbehavior is not acceptable. If my kid acts up, I address it immediately and if I have to, I LEAVE. And I never take him anywhere where I know he won't be able to handle it, like funerals, live action movies, weddings, restaurants that don't provide crayons, appointments, things like that.
-Seeing people passing by a mom with small children who is obviously struggling with a package, groceries, or something, a door, reaching something, whatever. How hard is it to pause and offer help? Same with elderly people or pregnant women or young kids.
-People who read over my shoulder when I am typing or trying to read.
-People with monotone voices. It just gets to me. Again, not their fault, and I don't judge anyone for it, but boy, for the first few minutes I'm distracted.
-Wet sneakers. And wet jeans.
-When people make movie predictions out loud WHILE you're watching the movie. And they're right. It's annoying. Let's WATCH and SEE, you know? Or when people blurt out the ending. We went to see a movie and before the previews even started someone yells "THEY ALL DIE!" And then they did. Grrrrr.
-People who can't take a pot/weed joke. Maybe I watch a lot of stoner movies (I loves me some Judd Apatow) but you know what... It's funny. It's a joke. I'm not smoking a joint or leaving roaches in the ash tray. This probably goes for most off beat jokes.
-"That's what she said" jokes that don't make sense. If you're going to say it, make it funny and not awkward or completely "whaat?"
-People who go "Why do you have rats as pets?" Why do you have a dog? Why do you eat a bagel for breakfast?
-People who fart and don't say anything. Everyone does it, but some warning or a heads up would be nice.

I have too many so I'm going to quit now. :p

-my biggest pet peeve is ... being ignored.. ... not much can hurt my feelings.. i was picked on a lot growing up.. but ignore me... and it will be my biggest heart break and annoyance... i actually have to hold the tears back for this one.
- parents who bring their little kids to any movie not suitable for a child (like the dark knight)... the kids talk and/or cry and/or kick your seat.. then the parrents end up "shhhh"ing their kids when they should just take them out ... its just plain annoying to miss half the movie after spending a million dollars to be there in the first place. grrrrr
- bad drivers. IF YOU CANT DRIVE PROPERLY, THEN DONT EFFEN DRIVE. gaaaawd..
-when people smoke/do drugs in front of their kids, or just plain bad parenting. i know children dont come with instruction manuals but some people seriously need to get a clue!!
-fast food commercials .. i get cravings very easily. those commercials really dont help.
-people who try to force their religion/views on others. i dont mind hearing what others believe in..hey im pretty easy going and open minded.. but just dont expect me to believe in the exact same things you do
-narrow minded persons
- when the computer doesnt work the way i want it to. it makes me all flustered and then i get impatient and give it too many commands and end up having to reboot it or something. lol
-litterbugs
-liers
- i work at a call center and get so freaking annoyed when people come on the line yelling and cursing at me because they are unhappy. we are adults, we can discuss the issue/problem like adults. i will try everything in my power to help fix your problem if you are respectful to me. i understand you are upset, i am an empathetic person and can put myself in your shoes. if however you feel i cant help you the way you need to be helped, ask politely to speak to the supervisor. in most cases regular agents at call centers have no power or pull. supervisors do. ask for them if you arent gettting the answers you want. dont verbally attack the poor agent, its not their fault. remember....you're the one that called me.
this list could go on and on. especially when i have pms . but you get the point :p

Just curious about something, dubchick. If someone were to send an email about dealing with a particular call centre rep, a thank you for the help that they received from them, do they actually ever get that message?
I had a thing happen with Virgin Mobile the other day, and I was a bit freaked out because my purchase had not gone through their records, I received an error message so I didn't have a confirmation number, but money had been taken from my account, and I was pretty adamant on the phone that I needed someone to look at getting it resolved. I wasn't mean or rude, but I was getting freaked because of the amount of money it was. The call centre rep was fabulous in helping me, and within a few hours my money was credited back to my account.
I messaged Virgin through their website, saying how awesome the rep was and included his name, and I am wondering if he will ever get it. I asked in my message that it be passed along to his supervisor, but I am wondering if it will be.

.

yup.. at purolator where i work,we have a "star" award. we will fill out a compliment form with what the customer tells us... and our manager will hand deliver it to us :) ... its definately my fav part of my job.
another good way to ensure the employee gets the message, is to ask to be put thru to a supervisor if you arent sure the employee will get the message. managers also post customer compliments on the outer wall of their "offices" for everyone who cares to read will see. we feel its good for morale. :)
i know it sounded like i dont like my job, but i really do. some days are better than others.... like all jobs.

My pet peves:

1. Empty ice cube trays left in the freezer... especially on a hot day.
2. Drivers who tailgate me.
3. Trades people who don't call back! I need a fence built desparately.
