Unfortunately I live in a pretty small town, and the nearest other vet, the E vet, is about 45 minutes away, and I had an INCREDIBLE ordeal last time I was there. The place where I go has an exotics specialist, I just think they're afraid to give me something for pain because they're afraid it'll harm her more than help her. Either way, if I ever have another similar situation, I'm insisting pain meds from the beginning and not being kind about it when they say no. I've been through enough and I'm still a nervous wreck with Aurora.. so far so good though, the glue's holding up. She doesn't really like the flavour of the Ibu, but I've been masking it in a bit of baby cereal flavoured with banana, so she's not too fussy about it.

If you still have the bill see if you can return the other bottle...I assume its cherry flavoured? The dye-free grape flavour is the one that the rats usually really like. :D

Glad to hear she is back home safe and sound. After one of my girls was spayed, she chewed out her sutures. Then we glued her incision. And a day and a half later, she had that opened up again... Since the internal sutures for the muscle layer were intact, we left her incision open. It healed OK. So if she does open it up again, all is not lost.
I hope she leaves it alone though!

Huh.. thanks for the tip! I've found that some strawberry ensure is the best way to make sure she drinks it all, but I'll definitely see if I can swap out the unopened bottle!

The verrrryy tippy top of it is opened up about the side of a pinhole, but I think it was like that before anyway. I would have just let it close on its own, but it's in such an awkward spot, like right on/beneath her elbow/armpit, which is always moving, so I'm afraid the skin wouldn't close properly..
