Is it deep in her lungs or in her nasal cavitiy? Have you tried steaming her to see if it helps?

Or is it not congestion but a dry crackling instead?

I cannot hear anything in her lungs, all I can hear is the echo from her noise in her nose.

I have done steaming, with no help at all.

The video posted in the main post is what I hear.

She is showing no signs of distress, she is a happy active fat little girl.

I just wish I knew something before going to this difficult vet tomorrow.

She has never been sick before, but like a said previously ..she has been making little sounds like these on and off for the past few months.

:panic:

She sounds JUST like Toby ..who has scarred lungs (but she has never been sick)

Should I ask for an x-ray? or maybe this would stress her out?

I find she makes the sounds more when I pick her up or she gets excited ..but in saying this ..she shows no signs of distress ..no gasping, etc.

Today will be her fourth full day on meds, no difference yet, but maybe she hasn't been on them long enough or maybe I should up the dose? I really need suggestions before going to this vet tomorrow ..oh this is so stressful!

Can CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) cause noisy breathing? From the fluid accumulation in the lungs?
Did you go to the vet yet? What did they think?

Vet tonight!

Hannah is starting to improve, the sounds are not as loud, you have to put your ear next to her to hear it now, before you could hear her accross the room.

This vet won't know any more than what I do ..trust me.

Went awesome.

Hannah has a very mild resp infection ..nothing in the lungs :joy:

Got 6 weeks work of Baytril & I already had Doxy at home :)

He actually listen to what I had to say :D

:)

Only thing that bugged me was, he said Hannah's teeth were too long. 16 months ago, I had all 9 rats down, apprently all of them needed their tteth trimmed according to him ..I never did get them done on advice from my vet and my own knowing.

All their teeth a a little long on bottom than the front ones, all are straight.

This vet deals alot with bunnies and pigs ..both who have teetch that line up. He thinks rats should be this was also *eye roll*

I ensured him that Hannah's teeth were fine.

Hannah has been on meds since Feb 10, so today is her 25th day. Her symptoms went away on the 16. When should I stop the meds?

28 days would be 4 weeks

If she's been symptom free for over a week, you could probably stop now. But be ready to start it if it looks like it's returning.

Its been two weeks. I just want to make sure I'm not stopping too early.
