I told her that on facebook she said she would get pics when she gets home tomorrow... she said he has a belly!

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a great Christmas! I just got home and was so very excited to get Wilbur on a scale and he is up to 150grms and maybe a bit more as it was hard to keep him in the container ...lol.... I will get a new picture of him as soon as I get it sized. He now has a belly and his boys are out for all to see now....lmao....I am thinking though that we may need to get his upper teeth removed if he is healthy enough. I trimmed one but the other I can not get at so to the vet we go again in the new year. He is loving his pellets(I soak them to make them soft) now and will not touch baby food at all. He is doing normal rat things as taking his food to his eating place (corner of the cage or bed) and now knows how to hold food as he eats. I will post a pic as soon as I can for you all to see.

We had a great time and we are now home and looking for a big cage so that Wilbur can have his girls to keep him company. We can not wait to see your girls and bring them home. We are looking for a cage and Wilbur may have to get his front teeth out as I can not get to one of his upper teeth and it has been recommended to have them removed. I will be calling the vet and get it done as soon as I can so we can get him his girl friends. I will have to give you a call. Hope you had a great Holiday as well. xo

He's looking great! Did he have a nice time visiting?

Wilbur looks SO much better than when you first brought him home, he's such a lucky little boy to have been found by such a loving family  it's unfortunate he needs to get his teeth out, but it may make life easier for him, I know ratties must HATE teeth trimmings! And I can't wait to see who you've picked for his little girlfriends! :cheeky:

A great cage for 3 to 4 rats is a Critter Nation. The main reason I like it is that the entire front of the cage opens with the two doors. It makes it very easy to get to every corner of the cage. I have a smaller cage and it has a tiny door - drives me nuts using it! The Critter Nation also has smaller, horizontal bar spacing which is ideal for rats, unlike the other cage they make, the Ferret Nation.
It also has wheels which makes it easy to move around - I bring the babies' cage into the living room sometimes to spend more time with them.
I'm glad you had a great visit! I hope Wilbur does OK with his surgery - we will all be pulling for him. I'll PM my phone number. :D

If you get the critter nation, you can bypass the I hate this cage moments that most new rat owners have LOL
