post a photo of their full grown Rex ratties I would appreciate it so much!!

I use aspen shavings in the litter box and newspaper or fleece on the bottom of the cage.

Here are my 2 rex girls, they are 18 months. The first is of the one girl at 8 weeks or so, then now as an adult. I don't consider them patchy. If you are getting double rex rats, then yes, but regular rex I don't consider patchy.

Thanks for the pics guys your babies are all so adorable, the thinning fur definitely adds to their charm! I hope the rescue were planning on adopting from has a few to choose from :hug4: and thanks also for the bedding suggestions :)

They have tons of chew toys they don't touch :( and I clean the cage every week but the blankets are wrecked after just 3 days

My rats ALL ruin fleece if they are too cold or don't have something else to rip up. I use newspaper and toilet paper rolls for them to rip up. Mine don't touch wood chew toys.

I have a quick question.
This here is Ridi. I got him when he was about 4 months old the person said. Ive had him a month now. I was told hes a hairless. Will he lose the hair he has?

Anyone seen/heard of this?

I got it for the dogs and cat because I hate chemical flea treatments as I've had a few dogs pass over time and its been kidney and bladder cancer which was linked to absorption agents in the flea/tick treatments.
It says it is safe to use on even new born puppies internally and externally for parasites like worms and fleas/ticks/mites.
It should be safe for ratties too apparently and the lady who owns the raw food pet store said I could try it on them if I wanted. I love this woman and she has never steered me wrong before. What do you think?

This stuff is silica and really bad for lungs. And since our rats have very sensitive lungs and prone to infections, I would definitely not use it.

Can I line my ramps with very fine sand paper to help wear down nails, or would it be dangerous for the ratties feet?

I think since they sort of slide down the ramps it wouldn't be good for their feet. You can put a small brick under their water bottles or any where else is the cage you know they will definitely walk on it.

At what age shoul I begin introducing veggies to my boys and what kind, when? Theyre about one month each right now.

Any time. There are certain foods that rats should not eat, so check out the prohibited food list. I'm not sure where it is but it may be sticky'd.

How long do you guys think on average trust training takes? I'm currently helping a boy rat that was mishandled by his previous owner to the point where he is scared to be touched. I've been able to coax him out of his hut a lot so it's already a step in the right direction. He takes food from my hands, will smell my hand and very very rarely allow me to pet him.

It's hard to say. It really depends on the rat and the experience he had. I wouldn't put any particular time limit on it. He may come around quickly (when the lightbulb comes on), or he may always be a bit more reserved than the other ratties.

Like Joanne said I think it really depends on the rat and what they have been through. Orchid and Nisa went through *a lot* before we took them in. Orchid is mostly like a normal rat now. Nisa is coming around but I'm still not sure if she ever will 100%.
