when hand raising my baby Max I noticed that his teeth were coming in crooked, I found out that it's called malocclusion. He is now 12 months old and I have to take him to the vet every two weeks to get his teeth ground down. His vet gives him an anesthesia and uses a dremel to grind his teeth down to a natural length. I have since come to find out that exotic vets are VERY expensive, but my little guys well being is all that matters!
His teeth have straightened out slightly, but not enough for him to grind them down solely through bruxing. HTH

I'm not sure if Diblet's teeth are crooked, or if she's holding her jaw off center when she bruxes. Her top right tooth and bottom left tooth meet when she bruxes, so the other two end up longer because they aren't being ground down.

When I rescued a momma and her babies, I noticed right away that her bite was off and her incisors were over-grown. We trimmed her teeth every two weeks for two months, and then her bite actually self-corrected, and she has been fine ever since. (The last two trimmings we did with anaesthetic, and took them down pretty short.) I keep checking her mouth every once in a while, but everything is still OK. So there is still hope that your baby's bite might be OK if you can get them trimmed regularly to let her jaw come together in a normal relationship. It's tough now though, because she's so young and anaesthetic is probably quite risky.

Despite my best efforts, my little Diblet crossed the Rainbow Bridge about two hours ago. And I still haven't stopped crying.

These past few days have been a roller coaster. One minute she'd be fine, and the next she'd barely be moving. Even with subQ fluids every few hours along with formula and mash, Dib always seemed dehydrated. I know I did everything in my power to keep her going, but I still feel as if I failed her somehow. I suppose Mother Nature had other plans for her, though...

At this point, all I want to do is stop crying...

I am so sorry for your loss, it is always hard losing a baby that you tried so hard to keep alive. I'm sure that she thanks you for the care you gave her in her last week on this Earth. :hugs:

Awww, I'm so sorry she didn't make it. You did absolutely everything you could for her, and that is all that anyone can ask. And in her short little life all she knew was your love and care. RIP Diblet, play hard at the bridge.

So shocking she passed, it sounded like she was gonna do well! I'm so sorry for your loss, and after all that hard work to keep her going too, its so hard to lose them...I hope she plays hard at the bridge and you're able to recover :hugs:

I'm so, so sorry for your loss.. it's difficult, especially when losing a baby so young, and one you cared for so deeply. Don't think you did anything wrong, you were the sunshine in that baby's life, you were the only reason she lived as long as she did, and though her life was short, she spent the majority of it in your loving, caring hands.

Rest in Peace, sweet baby.
