Sneezing? Not good -Symptoms returned?

He sounds a little congested or nasally but nothing dangerous. Its been 2 weeks now on the baytril?

One week, and one more to go. Id say he is getting better, he still sneezes and is congested as you said, but the one thing id say is 99% gone is the noisy hiccups, now that i think about it i have not seen him do it in about 3 days. Im just worried, should i take him to another vet, or should i see how the next week goes? And thank you Lilspaz, it makes me fell a little better.

I dont know if im over reacting because they are my first rats.. :wallbang:

So Thumper has been on Baytril for 17 days, and it seemed that on day 12 his symptoms of bad hiccuping, sneezing and congestion went away, but (noticed it last night) now its back again, (the congestion and bad hiccuping), i know it hasnt been long since he's been on it, but should he still be having this symptoms?

Can you ask the vet to add Doxy, so they're getting Doxy and Baytril?

What type of bedding do you use?

It does sound like he needs a stronger kick. Doxy might help with that.

Thank you, i will be making an appointment with another vet that LJ told me about. (You can hear his congestion from a far-ish, not just up close to his face anymore, sigh)

If you're using dusty bedding, that can be affecting him to and not help with him getting better. Maybe do a bedding company change to see if that will help along with the doxy.

I actually just changed his bedding a few days ago (maybe 4 days..), and he is still the same. I used carefresh but now i use SunSeed fresh world bedding(recycled newspaper). But im waiting till saturday to see if anything changes or if i really should make another appointment. Thank you both,

Just a small update, i made a vet appointment for him next saturday at the Clarke animal hospital as the doctor is away on vacation, i decided to go since he still is congested and still has bad hiccups when he does hiccup. Thanks everyone, i will post when the vet appointment passes.
