seborrheic dermatitis

Does anyone have rats with seborrheic dermatitis? If so can you post photos? I cant find a single photo of a rat with it.

I'm not sure I have from the description. It's not common. I've seen rats with overproduction of sebum in their back sides (males mostly), and I have cured a few of those. Is your rat male or female and what symptoms are they exhibiting?

I dont have any currently with any issues, I was just reading about it and was interested in seeing what it looks like as I couldnt find photos!

Ahhh ok. I can show you pics of my boy that suddenly developed so much of an overproduction of sebum, his fur was falling out and I was worried about a bacterial infection so I very gently plucked the loose fur, figuring no fur for the grease to cling to less chance of infection. It actually resolved after this

Malcolm developed this issue suddenly and as a much older rat.

Omg that poor baby looks pitiful! I know you said you cured it, but is this painful for them? I would be absolutely heartbroken if this happened to one of my rats! Is this just a boy thing?
