Rescue rat wants to bite me,HELP!

So far it has helped! she hasnt yet tried to bite my hands while they're in the cage. *fingers crossed*

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me out with beckie. She is now settled and almost bite free (she will bite through bars and will bite if surprised/woken) I can pick her up and she comes to the cage to greet me. We still have a little way to go but I'm no longer scared of her and I don't think she is scared of me either.

Just an update- beckie is an amazing girl but STILL carries her defensive cage issues. I have no problem with them, i simply remove her from the cage if i want to clean or rearrange it. If i do it while she is in there she will bite me! She may not draw blood but it is still scary she accepts new rats very well

I'm glad i had everyone's help here so that she could live a long and happy life. -in saying that she does not enjoy her nebuliser chamber!

Just read your thread for the first time- congrats on helping a little girl have a home that otherwise would have most certainly met an unfortunate end. And kudos to you for thinking about doing it again! Anyone can adopt a sweet, friendly baby, but it takes a special person to take on a known biter and rehabilitate them.

Beckie is no longer with us. She had to be pts about a month ago due to advanced lung damage from myco. I am very upset. I only had a year with her and in that time she came through so much. I hope she had fun while she was with me.
