As you can imagine the tumor has grown alot in the past month. Lindy was over to see Puzzle before he passed and confirmed what I've been trying to ignore: it's going to touch his spine soon. I know it could mean damaging nerve endings and causing pain and/or paralysis. This week it started to wrap around his leg and scabbing is starting to form on his inner thigh.. I see now why some members have said they've seen a hell of alot worse before considering euth. All the while he's alert, mobile, happy, and has a healthy appetite. I noticed he's been a bit destructive lately [he's never been a shredder] so I'm going to increase his Advil a touch [Shel instructed me on low, med, and max dosages] and see if it affects that particular behavior.

Chew things is a sign of pain... hopefully easily managed with the ibuprofen.
My boy also has a tumour, wrapped around his shoulder so we are on pain management as well until it's time.

Today, for the first time in his entire life, I had to force him to take his meds.. I don't think he'll be here for my birthday in a few weeks..

Thankyou everyone. :cuddle:

I'm reading up on natural cancer cures for humans. You know, the articles that talk about what we're "not supposed to know". Is grapeseed extract bad for rats?

"GRAPE SEED EXTRACT significantly inhibited the growth of colorectal tumors in both laboratory cell cultures and in mice, U.S. researchers report. A team from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver says mice given the extract displayed a 44 percent reduction in the size of advanced colorectal tumors. The researchers also determined how grape seed extract works to inhibit cancer growth. It does so by increasing the availability of a protein (Cip1/p21) in tumors that “freezes” the cell cycle, causing cancer cells to self-destruct. "

I got the GSE and was so excited to try it but soon after I felt his knee - there are 3 more lumps underneath the skin where it hasn't yet started to scab. It won't be long. He's stopped using the litterbox and climbing up to the second level. For a bit he stopped shredding cardboard but the behavior is back with a vengeance. The inside of his leg has been taken over and cleaning his penis plugs is awful because it's so close to the inner thigh. He's hurting..

His eyes are so bright, loving and trusting. He drags himself to me no matter what. He bruxxes gently and boggles when I scratch his back and cuddle him. But I realize now that he won't ask me to let him go. He knows how much I love him and how bad this is going to break me, and he doesn't want to die either.. He's so brave and strong. If only I had a smidgen of his courage I might be able to get through this with my sanity intact.
