About 2 weeks ago my rat was out playing and I'm assuming startled my dog (the dogs have never once bothered the rats prior to this). My dog grabbed her by the head and tossed her. It seemed like aside from a little cut on her neck she was ok. But now it's looking more and more like she can't open her mouth at all. Her skull seems even on both sides but she won't let me touch her mouth. I've been giving her some baby Motrin through a syringe. So I guess my question is, can a rats mouth be stuck shut? And if so should I feed her through a syringe? What kind of food? I have baby formula or watered down peanut butter or something else? She's still climbing on her cage and running on her wheel but she's getting skinny so I'm worried.
