The only houseplant I have of my own..... his name is Penis Cactus. You can figure out why for yourself. LOL

That's kind of sweet, though. I guess houseplants need to get into heaven too.

As you might have seen in our other thread, Quilt's neuter has developed some abscesses which we are dealing with - they are shrinking with a wonderful swiftness with the 2x daily saline butt baths(and boy, is his tail clean!) Based on what I've read on here, I think next time we have a boy neutered I will insist on antibiotics in addition to the painkillers, as a preventative. Silly vet, only giving us three days of Metacam and nothing else.

The really  heartening  part of all this is I think I have completely lost my fear of being bitten by quilt. Holding his big ratty butt in the water for 10 minutes, scruffing or pinning him so Dad can get all the ick out, he hasn't tried or even THOUGHT about biting us. Four weeks ago, he'd bite you for sitting down on the couch with him, and now I can flip him over and prod his goolie-less-ness (which probably doesn't feel fantastic) and he just wriggles!

He and Gregory have been back together in their cage for several days now, and except for the occasional hammock squabble, and attempts to realign dominance, they're doing swell! We're so excited about getting everyone together and only having to clean one cage again!

That is great news about Quilt and Greg, minus the abscesses...
Isn't it amazing how much a neuter changes a rat. Once you take away all hormonal drive, you find that real rat, the loving rat.
