Well he can still reach his feet, which is more than most senior citizens can say! LOL

That truly is wonderful that pred has given him a new lease on life. Give him a kiss for me.

That day when I brought him back home from the vet I was kind of worried that I did the wrong thing, but I am really happy that I took that chance & listen to my vet. Oscar actually went for a visit when Little Miss got her stitches out ..Dr. D. looked like a kid on Christmas morning ..he was delighted :)

I will certainly give Oscar a kiss for you :)

Day 12:)

:wallbang:

I was just having a good look over Oscar ..to find that his teeth are messed up ....

he has been eating soft foods since we found the chest tumor because hard food is too hard for him to eat since it takes him more effort to breath ..he has recently started eating cheerios ..but thats the hardest food he will eat.

Is there anything I can do?

I don't think putting him through a teeth trimming would be very easy on him esp with a chest tumor..

:(

Oh my ..I am calling the vet now..I hope he can get me in tonight ..if I cannot get in soon ...how do I use nail clippers (if worse comes to worse)

It looks like his bottom ones will be OK if you can even out the top. They have to be trimmed, so if you haven't done it before, go to the vet's the first time so he can show you how to do it. Then you can do it next time. My Taffy had to have her teeth trimmed for about a month, then her bite self-corrected (go figure). We never did use anaesthesia. The big thing is making sure you don't get the lip or tongue. We used the little kitty nail trimmers because they are used like scissors and are small and are less likely to get soft tissue as opposed to human nail clippers.

My vet is in tonight ..so I''ll be bringing him in ...i may have to pay a $120 walk in fee but oh well ..he needs it done.

This sucks ...he was doing so well :(

I feel horrible I never caught this sooner.. so much going on ack!

none the less Oscar is still a happy boy ..he will be much happier when his teeth are fixed tonight.

Resting on my hand

Oscars teeth are all fixed :)

Dr. D. used a tool like at the dentist and filed them instead of cutting.

Those piccy's of him getting scritched are so cute. ^.^; My young rat leaned into my hand the other day when I scritched his side, it was so cute and funny. xD;

Glad to see he got his teeth trimmed up too! No fun having to deal with that. At least he can be ok now. =)

He'll be much more comfortable now. So you are going to have to get a drill now? LOL

:laugh4: drills are scary :laugh4: LOL I think I'll just have to bring him to the vet all the time :wallbang:

haha

:laugh4: Love that look!!! "Don't even think of stealing these from me... I've got newly trimmed teeth now, ya know???"

Nominate for RPOM!!!

I think it's soon time for my big man to cross the bridge ..he is back to using a lot of effort to breath, starting to eat less and spending most of his days just laying around. I started to notice yesterday afternoon ..I was hoping it was just a bad day ..but I think its more than just a bad day. His eyes are not as bright anymore ..I can see that he knows it's soon time too. We were lucky to get these last 13 days together

I'll be calling the vet shortly to book a time ..Im not sure if he is working tonight or not.
