I was sure I would wake up and it would be a fluke, and she'd be sick again, but this is what greeted my sleepy eyes...

Did someone say "breakfast"?

Terra's belly that was sooo distended yesterday morning

Silly Mom! I did have to put a dollop of Ensure into their cereal before Terra would touch it though

*whew*

I hate to report this, but Terra started acting a bit wobbly last night so I felt her belly just in case...deep deep inside are what I do think are masses, but she's comfy, and happy, so we'll just keep an eye on my baby. They are older so you cannot expect miracles.

I am giving her metacam and baytril (just in case) before her breakfast cereal. I also inject her sister before breakfast so they have a treat to look forward to. They are both determined to enjoy what little time they have left :D

Our poor babies are just not meant to live long. If it's not one thing, it's another.

But rats have the uncanny ability to deal with their little issues in a really big way.

As long as they are comfortable and not suffering... they should always be granted the right to carry through until they draw their last breath.

I can't tell you how much more comfort it gave me to have Basil pass, in comfort and warmth, at home. If at all possible, they deserve nothing less. :love6:

I totally agree!

I talked to Dr. Munn about gas incidence in rats and it is very uncommon on its own. I told her about Terra and she agrees that she most likely has masses in her digestive system (intestines?) that blocks things up sometimes and the gas builds up.

Well poor Terra "blew up" again last night :sad3: She spent the night sleeping with me...my poor wee 'gouti. :(

IF Terra makes it to Monday morning, I will be dropping her off to be pts.

Ugh, not a good weekend. Poor Meghan isn't well, Terra, Found a mass inside Cleo's abdomen, doesn't feel like it goes through the body wall though, Megan has one as well, but its the fullness below her ribcage that has us worried, and the fact that she slept with me for 2 hours not moving yesterday :sad3:
