How can I fatten my 3 month old boys in a healthy way. I really need to get them in another cage with the big boys cuz theirs is too small for them.

For my little ones, I gave them extras like baby cereal with olive oil, or the occasional chicken, pasta. Human foods fatten rats up real fast.

When I got my fuzzlets a few days ago, I mentioned to the girl in the pet shop, a very skinny rescue rat we got from the RSPCA a while ago (she was very old and died after only 3 weeks of having her :sad4:) We fed her on macaroni cheese and small amounts of double cream, but she was far too ill.
But anyway, the girl said that when they get especially bony rats in, it's highly recommended to feed them a special cat food. The type that comes in a little loaf (without the jelly coating, or gravy) and ONLY chicken flavour as it has less protein than red meats.
It's often labelled as kitten food as it's full of essential vitamins, rich, and loads of carb without being a protein overdose.... She said it was a very healthy way of fattening rats up, and they don't need a lot... less than one little loaf. I've never tried it personally, but it gets good reviews apparantly, our local rspca uses it.

But this is for underweight skinny rats who are usually ill... making rats bigger to introduce them doesn't need them to be fattened up, they just need to grow... little babes need time for their muscles to develop and they bones to grow, it's no good having an obese chunk of a rat who's still a fuzzlet, that's just unhealthy. Porker! :)

Ah nice to know!! Glad it's all good... post some pics of the guys all together!! :)
All you will see is two old boys in the bottom left hand corner and the two young boys on the top right hand corner, lol. I will post pics after I can move them to our new apartment upstairs (which should be tonight).
