I giggled out loud at that first pic of Naomi. She's a sweetie!! She looks like she is full of spirit, I think she has lots of fight in her. Good luck.

We had another vet visit yesterday afternoon. This time everyone except the 2 new boys went.
Laurel, Buddy and Rhubarb were x-rayed.

The vet says that Naomi is continuing to improve. The hole in her throat is healing and the two other throat abscesses are continuing to decrease in size. Naomi is still unable to eat independently and is being syringe fed.

Laurel has has lost a lung. It has collapsed and she has difficulty eating and breathing. Laurel has been struggling with badly damaged lungs most of her life. It is almost time .. :(
Buddy has a very large mass in his chest. It may be an abscess or a tumour. He is now on pred and chlorpalm.
Rhubarb has a enlarged heart and is now on heart meds for chf.
Casper has a urinary tract infection and is now on clavamox.
Raine continues to have respir issues and is continuing on doxy + baytril. Trying this combo for another day or so.
Lunar has started to have respir issues so is now on doxy + baytril.
Sunny is doing better and continuing on the doxy + baytril combo.
Gus has a small lump on his side near his hind leg that the vet will remove if it starts to grow. I had been hoping it was just an abscess that would soon pop.

Maria is doing well, her incision healed well and no signs yet of the tumour regrowing.
Jubilee is healthy and doing well.

Hopefully the two new boys will be able to come off clavamox after their vet recheck tomorrow. But one of the neuters looks like it may be packed with hard blood (he was the boy that bled the night after surgery) or else it has an abscess.

Edit: Back from the vet Fri July 2
Daniel is good.
Jonah has a neuter abscess so continuing meds.
Had Laurel pts.

Oh my goodness, are you and your kids ever dealing with a lot!
I'm so happy to hear that Naomi is going up instead of down. Thankyou for the pictures, what a beautiful girl, so nice to 'see' her while I wish the very best for her.

Naomi now has a huge lump on her throat underneath where the drained lump was.
She is able to nibble a bit at a banana slice but otherwise unable to eat independently.
Naomi is also unable to lick soft food off my finger.

Her younger sister/cousin Raine (aka raindrop) does not have any lumps but is in the same condition re being able to eat.

Both are being syringe fed but are uncooperative. This is a change as up until today Naomi would eagerly take the syringe.

I'm thinking PT although there are no other symptoms ...
Please tell me I'm wrong!

I'm so sorry SQ, I don't know if it's PT but when my ratties won't eat anymore I take them in. This is such a hard decision only you can make. :hugs:

We went to the vet Wednesday and again today.
Buddy, Raine & Casper were xrayed today.

Naomi has a lump lower on her throat then before and the vet thinks it is responding to meds. The lump is interfering with her eating but she does still eat a bit.
Rhubarb - put on heart meds for an enlarged heart and he seems to be doing better. He has a small lump on back of neck so keeping an eye on it
Casper - still on meds for bladder infection and starting on heat meds for a slightly enlarged heart
Raine - everything ok on xray, eating a bit easier since pred started, going to try heart meds in case of underlying problem that isn't showing up (like her brother Paul had)
Sunny - responding somewhat to antibiotics
Buddy - lump in his chest cavity is smaller so may be an abscess, continuing meds
Maria - abdominal lump has not yet reappeared, doing well
Jubilee - doing well
Gus - continuing to keep an eye on small lump on his side
Lunar - meds seem to be helping his respir infection
Both Naomi and Raine are doing better at holding food in their hands. I am continuing to syringe feed both girls for awhile longer to give the meds time to work and see if their conditions will improve.
Jonah & Daniel - abscess seems to have cleared up, healing well from neuter

It is much too hot again today in this horrid apartment. Later today we may be moving to their grandmother’s until the weather starts to cool off a bit.

Glad to see that Naomi is doing a little better. Things looked bleak for a while. I sure do hope that their "grandma" will let them move in for a while. Your place must be punishingly hot by now.
