I tried to "force them" with equal parts strawberry syrup and Metacam. Nada. (Besides, of course, Little Rat dragging his chin to try to get the Metacam off?/out? and making a sticky mess of the bottom of the bed... have any of your rats done chin dragging afterward? It's really odd).
I got some applesauce. Added a couple of table spoons to the Metacam/syrup. And they both ate it! It must be the texture of the stuff the don't like... either that or it's so diluted they wouldn't know! (I couldn't taste it)

So... whew.

Yeah the dragging of their chin is normal so they don't have to clean the meds off themselves.

don't forget to give peanut butter a try, it balances sweet stuff and you probably have it at home already. (test them with peanut butter first to see if they love it)
Barring that, bum a fish oil pill from someone if you don't have any and see how they take to a squirt of the fish oil in a dish. Some like it, some don't, if they do then that crap oughta hide any other taste....

If you do use peanut butter, water it down first. Peanut butter is a very sticky substance and rats have been known to choke on it.
