Is there any way to get a better picture of the sore?

That's the best I can do with a squirmy rat and a cellphone camera. Sorry. :(
It just looks like the fur has all fallen out. There's no blood, and it's dry.

Is it scaly and in the form of a raised ring?

Another stab in the dark is that she got bitten by an insect (sore) and the swollen red paws/nose are a systemic allergic reaction. do you have any liquid benadryl?

I wonder about a spider bite or something similar, and now she's having an allergic reaction to the bite. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to try Benedryl...

I also wonder about ringworm...

Do you see any puncture wounds? Even tiny tiny pinhead marks... that could indicate a bug bite.

Edit: Shelagh (who's supposed to be in bed *glares*) beat me to it. Heh.

I don't. :(

This also happened to my previous rat, only worse. My previous rat, it started with her one ear going completely gooey and crusty, then fell off. (Not even joking, it grossed me out so much) Her paws and nose also got blood red, and also the same sores all over her body, just like what's happening to my rat now..

I've been watching her the last hour or so, since I got home from work pretty much, and she's eating fine. Sitting in the corner eating her favorite corn kernels, and she's drinking normally too.

What do you wash your cages with?
Hot water and a little bit of dish soap.

And the ears is irrelevant, it's what happened to my rat who died.
This one's ears are fine. They only had the blood red stained paws/nose in common.

its too much of a coincidence that a prior rat had most of the same symptoms. How long ago did that rat die and how soon did you get the new rats?

Same petstore? If so, same genetic lines/family maybe.

The other rat died about a month ago. I've just gotten over it, cause I had her for a little over a year (In the very same cage), and bought these two little girls. Different pet store too.

Read through that thread. Does that seem like what's happening?

I don't know if they ever figured out what was wrong, she died so quickly.

Skimming through some of that quickly (going to go back and read more thoroughly)
That sounds very close to what happened to my previous rat. We noticed it happening to her, then the next day we ended up just putting her down ourselves. I couldn't bear to watch her just lay there, unable to move and starve to death

Maybe you could take this rat to the same vet who put your last rat to sleep?

A vet didn't put my rat to sleep, since I can't GET to one.
I killed her myself, rather than watch her starve and die slowly.

Go get benadryl because right now it's your best bet.
Not really all that possible.

Again.. live on a mountain. Go into town once a month.

We are trying to help you, you shouldn't have rats if you can't supply even basic care. There is something in your husbandry that is doing this to your rats. Whether it be a bug bite or some rare type of virus, its in your home since its the common denominator.

I don't think I want to know how you had to kill your girl, we do not approve of home euth's here...none are humane.

You have no access to any stores, much less a vet so honestly we cannot help you. I would be begging my friends for a ride to a vet right now, but I doubt you will do that. They may not the respect the rat, but you would hope they would respect you.

You came on here asking for help and you have the nerve to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about then edit the post? You are beyond help...wtf do you expect us to do if you don't have access to anything? Get a taxi...yes it will be expensive but this poor animal doesn't deserve to suffer because you are an irresponsible pet owner.
