Inca & Lilith's Big Day ...Inca Update 01/08 :)

It's incredible how quickly Inca's adjusted to having only 3 legs from, I suppose, 3.5 legs. Did she use the stump to move around before or not at all?

Poor Lilith... sending many healing vibes her way!!

She would use the stump to rest on or to balance on and even tried to use it for climbing the sides of her cage. :doh:

Oh, good heavens! Probably better to have it removed then - she certainly doesn't seem to be too slowed down by it being gone!

Inca is now back in with her cagemate Tria. She had some discomfort last night, so I gave her an injection but hopefully that is the last one. She got her metacam this morning to tide her over until I get home from the family party.

I put her in a Rat Resort with its solid levels, solid shelves and put hammocks where she could fall. I tucked fleece into her little house which she promptly pushed out and then carefully buried the food bowl :giggle:

She looks good this morning

I woke up at 4:30 am with a headache from strange rat dreams...I really hope that the security guard didn't find that sickly teeny black and white hoodie that I was hiding in my shirt, even though I had to hand back the beige and black boys to him :/

So I took out Inca and Tria...

Inca is doing AMAZING...just metacam for a couple more days and I think we are good to go

Figuring out how to groom

Bouncing (it makes her look like she's a 2 legged rat)

and exploring the shelves where I keep all my rat dishes...back to being a little girly troublemaker...I love it!!

Issa has responded to the dex, she's less wobbly and more alert now, and able to eat cheerios sitting upright.

I also have a wonderful update on Lilith :joy:

The scab on her cheek has fallen off, with nice pink skin underneath...only issue now is a swelling above her eye, but I am thinking its a stye, and I will try to compress it and see what happens. :thumbup:

Lilith's scab really does look better, which is such a relief! And WOW! I can't believe how well Inca is doing, she's absolutely incredible.

Lilith's face is really clearing up nicely, just the stye or ingrown hair on her lid to worry about.

Inca is at that icky turning point where things don't look pretty but its where the healing really begins :thumbup:

lol - it would be an odd sort of heat dance... The wound actually looks great on Inca - might be scabbed at the surgery point, but there's no red, no infection, no swelling - so it might not be the prettiest, but it looks like a masterpiece to me, lol

Definitely looks like a sty for Lilith - coming to a head too, it looks.
