Help My pika! - Lumpy incision? 7/4/11

Day 3 and 4 the incision always looks the worst, like its about to open up. The reason behind this is your rat is feeling much more herself and stretching and moving a lot more than before, pulling the incision. The best part is that this is when the real healing begins...tomorrow it should look a LOT better :thumbup:

No metacam but i am still giving her some ibuprofen today will probably be the final day, depending on how she acts this afternoon during out time.

some may have seen the video of her not taking meds LOL this is a really nice switch for her.

you missed the video of her taking her meds a few months back. Poor lilspaz had to walk me through forcing them down her. She will take the ibuprofen with no problems, but if it is doxy, she screams.......and squirms and screams.


she is doing great now, had her out and she was annoying me. Sadly i have another girl that i came home to bleeding today.

I am guessing so. Having a hell of a time getting her into a vet again. my work schedule and the 2 hour there and back 2 times for the surgery drive doesn't help matters at all.

This time it is Isis......she is doing ok, i am terrified but there isnt a lot i can do but wait to try and get her in. I fought so hard to get vets arranged and it seems like i have a hell of a time getting them in. it always happens on a weekend and it always happens when I am working stupid hours like 4 am - 10am at work.

Oh my ! I am not far from you at all! Where do you live at? I take them to granger for the prices, which I couldnt find affordable prices in either place, how are their prices there? and knowledge? I am always up to having another vet on speed dial LOL

Pika has gained all her weight back, but her incision is a bit puffy? for lack of better words. When you hold her, it sticks out further, but since it is getting larger, I dont think it is just scar tissues.

For fun, this is a "true" pika picture to get the others is alot of work LOL

I tried a few pictures but she is 120% back to her normal PITA pika ways.
This one i think is the best but i tried for a few directions. I always end up with more blurry pictures of her than i do anything :laugh4:

I still have baytil and she is still on it. I am just unsure if she is getting a bit infected and I am not sure what to do if she does.

Pika is pika..........figured I would show just how hard it is to get a picture of her, she is right back to non stop moving. Since she gives non stop kisses i will let it slide lol

she is biting my jaw right now, that i can live without.

it just looks like that scab is holding in some gross stuff...........
