Help My pika! - Lumpy incision? 7/4/11

Never seen the owie stretch till now, i am freaking out..

I am in chat now, have no idea what to look for. I picked her up today to check her over, and didnt notice this. She was all of the sudden fighting every one...It wasnt right even for pika

Well thanks to LA, we found out she is bleeding from her vagina, I emailed and called my vet about setting up an emergency spay tomorrow, thank god I found her.

If i didnt post that post about her and how lost i would be if i lost her................I just hope and pray they can get her in tomorrow, I emailed her, and left a message..

I knew when she bite me last night something was off, she was fighting all the rats, which she is usually the submissive one. I checked her over and she seemed fine. I figured they were just restless with the new girls there. I worked late then had to be at work early and I just got to let her group out since i was cleaning and she is my jumper. The poor girl just lays around......

I have her in a hospital cage, she will be sleeping next to me, i hope the morning has good things.

I gave her somme childrens ibuprofen and she is fine now......trying to jummp off the couch.....I gave her bindi as a buddy sinnce she was flipping out in the small cage...in the big cage templeton was kinda picking on her...but she wasn't in the mood.. I feel a lot better now that she is acting ok. that is the ugliest thing I have ever seen a rat do with their body but I am glad so I could see the problem at least. I am also glad that shelagh and victoria explained it to me a few months ago...I knew I loved this forum for many reasons. It took extra money to get my kid back from camp, our hours at work got cut, my dog had a huge abcess on her neck which required a vet visit, and getting skittles llump removed yet to lol I will get back ahead in the vet fund if it kills me lol I hope the spays will help...the girls will be first to be spayed that is for sure now...I gave up on them because of the problems with the boys I had but now that my favorite vet can do them it is back on....

Thanks for the support I have been a little off on giving it back lately but reality set in with skittles tumor and I haven't dealt with aging very well. I have been avoiding most sad topic since the lump...I gguess I have been avoiding the thought of how short their lived are

Don't be worried or surprised if your vet wants to try a week of antibiotics before spaying her. This is actually quite normal, since sometimes these bleeds are from genital myco and it may clear up with antibiotics. Good for you for wanting to get your girls spayed! :thumbup:

Does that causes these movements? Would going into heat flare this up?

I just got up i have her out and she is fine :wallbang: i swear how she acted last night, you would of swore she was on her death bed. I even broke my rule, generally pika is not allowed out until i had enough coffee to deal with her anic: She has been on the floor twice today already and only out for 30 minutes if that.

I have never seen this girl not move constantly....it scared me half to death.

Those owie stretches means they hurt in the abdomen, could be bladder, uterus or tummy.
I've never seen a rat do this except after a spay. But... I did see my sister's girl do it out of the blue. We were quite worried, watched her but the next day she was completely fine again.

Her sides are a bit funny shaped. when i stand her up she is fine, you don't notice it all the time. Not sure is she is having little mini owie stretches because her body keeps looking just odd. Of course we had the little medical review discussion in chat LOL I guess it could be cysts or tumors..I started her on baytril and still giving her the childrens Ibuprofen. I am still checking for pees and poops from her, I have her in the cage by herself right now, she bit me again this morning.......so i know she isnt happy.

This blanket was fresh last night LOL i am not sure how they managed to get lab block mess all over so fast.

You can see it in her face....she is usually happy looking

Having issues with getting the spay done, 3 vets, one can do it Friday morning (most likely..I will know in about an hour for sure, My favorite vet, she is willing to do it for me before she takes her kid to college, but she is going to call me back in a bit since she is in surgery right now.) the other i don't trust and the one i haven't had operate on them before, and he is over 300 for a spay. Which with everything that happened i wont have that till Friday either way.


The one i don't trust, is the one that did the boys neuters and I do not like her, It worries me about letting her in my girls stomachs. She requires a few rats at a time to spay, so i would have to take more than pika in for it. I dont know that I could physically do that f I lost more than one from her mishaps I would be livid.

The other vet is replacing my trusted vet at her old office, well it is technically his office, but i haven't been to him, he will be the one that will take over sicknesses and other surgeries. As long as our first visit go ok.....I hope and pray he is awesome.

Keep your fingers crossed that Dr. hatch can do this Friday and the schedule works out. if not, I have a horrible choice between two vets one I don't know and one i don't like. I should know very soon if she can in fact do it on friday, they scheduled me, but she has to call back about it after she is out of surgeries.

Can we add another vet to the mix? I guess there is another dr at Kryder, who is the original vet office who does the spays, dr. kryder does lump surgeries but not spays.....wow i am confuses myself sorry.

but if Dr. Hatch, the one i want to do it, the other vet that does rat spays can do it, and they said they will charge 209.50. That I can do. If she cannot do it friday or sooner, then I will set up for her to be done tomorrow. I seen blood on the blanket, not a lot she was sleeping so i dont think she was cleaning it like she does when she is awake.

I really wish I had time to get the vets back in line, i just found out she was gone and in the process of getting them all ready. but i guess this will get my vets figured out lol

Wow... I don't know if I should be envious or not. lol I only have one vet. If she's out of town or anything, I'm screwed.
