I would give anything to be able to beam down some Zithro to you. If I'd been paying better attention over the last few months I'd have realized your predicament and found a way to get you some.
She actually seems better not just stable tonight. She was in my lap bright-eyed, having 7 cc's of ensure after her injection and she was grooming quite vigorously then she settled down for some stroking and bruxing. I have a lot of hope now
She ran out to the front of the cage for her baytril! Normally, especially in the morning, I have to winkle her out of the hammock or wherever she has cozied down into. I had to look twice to make sure that it was her not Valora who has the white coming up her sides. Nope bright-eyed, thin (but seems to be gaining), and running. Thats my girl!!!
I'll talk to Dr Munn and see what she thinks is the best course. It seems the addition of the oral baytril to her once a day injection of gentamycin (or gentocin) and dexamethasone is really working now.
Yes! She's looking forward to seeing Dr. Munn as much as you are.
She's gonna get all better and celebrate by chewing up your brand new Hermes handbag and you're gonna be so happy about it! (like anyone with rats and a vet could afford one )
Good for you Kamaili. I'm just so happy you're feeling better kid, Keep it up!
Well the consensus is that Kamali most likely has pulmonary abscesses. Not a lot of air is getting into her lungs. I will continue with the dexamethasone injections and change her meds to zithro/baytril. The assistants absolutely loved my sweet girl.
