Fluttering ears = pregnancy watch over?

That's exactly what I said in chat Joanne... babies are great but the world does not need more rats.

I'm going to wait until I'm totally positive there's no way she's pregnant before rescuing another girl to be her cagemate until she's spayed. Another member mentioned her rat showed signs of being in heat when she was in fact pregnant.

Skittles did....the day before she had them. She was on my desk ears fluttering and i was scratching her bum, she was doing her little dancing jig because one of the boys was starting to try to mount her and I stopped him she she was already spotting. lol I swear on my life!

I would guess in Skittles case her body's pregnancy hormones had already ceased, putting her back into heat.

I think she may have reabsorbed if she's in heat, if she was every pregnant in the first place

I'm thinking she's not pregnant if she went into heat, and the growing/weight gain is just due to living at xio's & being spoiled.

She's in the clear next Tuesday, to be very sure.. That would make it 23 days out of the boys' cage I believe.

I would go celebrate.
She was in heat and not about to give birth so not the day before delivery.
She isn't pregnant and wasn't pregnant. (Lucky little girl)
She is just a growing baby girl ..... they often get little pot bellies and then have a growth spirt.

She's still gaining. Like she gained 10 grams today :| This morning she was around 158/160 and she just weighed in at 169/170

I hope everyone who's told me "No definitely not pregnant" knows that I'm just neurotic and paranoid, I truly do trust the experience and knowledge you all have I just always expect the worst.

Just got caught up.... None of the pictures I've looked at in this thread show a pregnant rat, just a healthy, young, growing rat! And being in heat would definitely mean she's not pregnant! If she were pregnant, about to pop, and in/going into heat (birthing can do crazy things to the hormones...) then there would be more signs than what you are seeing.
