I spent a couple of months introducing my four young rats to my four older rats. I HAD to make sure they couldn't reach each other through the cage bars (bitten noses and toes), and I couldn't put them in the cage together. I did neutral and not-so -neutral intros for weeks and weeks before I finally put them together, and they still had to duke it out for a few days. So, I guess what I'm saying is don't be in a rush, and don't give up hope!
