Hehe yeah, I'm just so glad it's not like, something unusual or fatal (though I know it would if it was left) - I should've joined here ages ago!

Hi Argent, welcome to the Rat Shack!!!!

What a couple of dolls you have there!!! Axel does look a little chunky but I have seen little men with more on them than your little man. :)

I checked out the Oxbow website and think that the link below will help you. Oxbow is internationally recognized and there appear to be vendors in England who would probably be able to ship to you.

I hope this helps.

Give plenty of scritches to your little guys and a smoooooooooooooch on the head from me!!! :love6:

Best regards,

Ahh! Yes! Thank you sooo much for that link! One of the stores they distribute to is close enough for me to get to! ^_^

And of course, I will hehe :D

Whatever you do, DON'T LET THOSE LITTLE GUYS GUILT TRIP YOU!!!!

Oxbow is healthy but not necessarily the tastiest food around. My little man Basil was full of sad little faces when I started giving him Oxbow. Right now Ben and Basil both get Oxbow and Harlan Teklad. Basil tends to be a little on the heftier side so he is often put on a diet. The last time I took him to the vet; she told me that he needed to lose 16 grams... I almost died laughing. :laugh4:

Right, I'll try to ignore the "why are you doing this to us!?" looks >.<Chances>.< 16 grams? That's pretty specific lol

You need to tell my cats that Oxbow isn't the tastiest thing around. When I got the first bag, they ripped it open when I left it unattended for a few minutes. I honestly think their attempts to get into Toby's cage aren't to get Toby, but to steal his food.

On the up side, Toby doesn't gorge himself anymore, and he even leaves food in the dish now. Yay!

cool! I've got you added-my name on it is something like Jess super anime ninja glomp machine heh

my boys are seal-point siamese brothers, I got them off a local breeder who was full of info when I was speaking to her ^_^

what were they eating before that?

quick update-the infection is being eaten away by the wonder wash at record speed-the yellowy infected skin was first to go, and now the big brown scab is getting smaller and smaller...it's leaving a worryingly large hole (a few cm big...) but it's looking a lot cleaner..and smelling nicer too :)

they're now on fleece, with kitchen paper underneath for a little added absorbency...I had to give them a little extra as a blanket and some toilet paper to drag into their bed because they kept trying to pull the corners up into it >.<
but yeah, I really like the fleece over CareFRESH now...it's so much cleaner...

My girls stopped eating anything else (except veggies and treats) once they started getting Harlan Teklad 2014. But they recently started eating Oxbow again. I had always left a little of it at the bottom of the dish incase they ran out of their preferred blocks.

So glad that the abscess is healing so nicely!!

awh Godmother are they just picky eaters or is there something up? o_O

and yeah, abscesses are a real pain..
has anyone else had to switch beddings and find their rats don't wanna poop on it?

Where can we find that Oxbox thing in Ottawa? I looked in several pet shops and they don't have it. Instead, they have other kind of lab block with 25% of protein and more than 8% of fat.

I would like my big Captain Jack Sparrow to lose some weight too.
