I HOPE it's over now. He was suddenly very tired(closed his eyes when petted as he normally does), and seems like he's drying. I do not know for sure tho.. But he seems to have perked up a bit.. But then again, he seemed to do that yesterday too..

He looks good now. Are the sounds from his nose or deeper in his chest? He might need meds for URI. He sure is a cutie.

Just to let you know you shouldn't give them anything to eat if you think it's choking. Sometimes the rat will eat anyway and the choking episode will last longer.

No worries, he was given the yogurt after he was finished choking and he went to have a drink before that.

The sounds are only in his nose. Went to several vets, and nobody could find anything wrong whqt so ever. Just that it might be allergies.

Have you tried the Children's Benadryl for allergies. It worked on some of mine.
I don't even know if we have that over here.. And pretty much all those things are prescription meds anyway:/ the vet said to come back if it started bothering them, and then I'd get meds(they make the sound maybe once or twice a month or less now. Except yesterday, but that's likely due to the choking, because I haven't heard a sound afterwards..

Yeah he does!
He's happily gobbling down some babyporridge now..
Think it's one of the most scary things with my rats so far.. For all the other things i've known what it was or that it would for sure end with them dying.. I can handle them dying(well.. Sort of).. But not knowing for hours just kills me..

So relieved for Stefan (and you, too)! I've been following this thread anxiously (with no constructive ideas to post) but I'm just so happy he's okay

Thank you!
It does mean a lot to me :D
He´s tired(or just plain lazy, hard to tell the difference :giggle: ), other than that, he´s okay.
Thankfully! :joy:
