ok i put her back in the cage but i guess I should mention, she's almost always alone and has been for quite some time, at least while inside the cage
during out time she'd "hook up" with buddies from time to time but she sleeps alone and stays on the bottom level of the cage, and no one else sleeps down there but her.
when they were walking all over her, is when she had infant cereal with ensure and other baby food and cheerios, which she still can eat a bit (she can't eat lab blocks and was choking on a pc of one a few nights ago, I thought she was in the last minutes of her life but realized she was choking on some thing. I can't say for sure what it was, because i'd left the room for just a few minutes- but there was a bowl of ensure in the cage and a few lab blocks- this is when i tried setting her up in the gpig cage and put Hope in there with her to keep her company.
anyways it seems a lab block had gotten wet from the ensure and it looks like Paige had tried to eat a pc of it.... the only other thing that she could have been choking on was the Ensure itself, if she snorted some up her nose or something? )
anyway that was really terrifying so that's why i wanted her in the cat carrier where i could keep an eye on her better and offer her a bowl of ensure and infant cereal etc only when i'm there to make sure she doesnt' fall into the bowl and choke
i guess i forgot to tell you this story, i know i mentioned it to some one but i guess it wasn't here :emb:
its' been a rough couple of days
so what was i saying? oh she gets walked on when i put food in the cage for her and everyone else wants it, BUT if i take the bowl of cereal or whatever out of the cage and she's alone to eat it, she doesn't stay at the bowl as long as she does when she's got her cage mates pressed up against her,
it's like they remind her to stay there and eat, because they are... is that possible?
but except for when she's got food that they want, she's alone
right now she is in a tiny wooden hut, sleeping on the floor of the bottom level of the DCN
do you really think she's happier there? I mean, i put her back in there so that she'll eat more with the rest of them crowded around her,
but then when she's in the cat carrier, i can see when she's awake and can offer her food and drinks and stuff
and clean her up and take her out to hold her and stroke her and stuff
i want what's best for her but i don't know what that is.
when they are out for play time i do put her in the room with them to see if she'll hang out with anyone but she always goes off on her own and finds a pile of fabric (sheets, fleece whatever i've got in there) to snuggle up underneath
