Bella is aprox 24 months old. I have noticed the past few days that she has pee left on her fur "down there" .. UTI??

Also I was feeling around, they may be a small lump right next to her back leg higher up ..but shes chunky so its hard to tell

Going to the vet on Monday ..In the meanwhile ..I do have baytril here, should I start her on it just incase?

She is a very healthy girl, no health problems until now ..she has been with me for 21 months.

Sometimes chunky rats have little fat deposits. That happened to one of mine and I thought it was a tumor too. Good luck with your sweetie.

Some rats will become more, umm, unclean when they get older. Bianca now 28 months old is always dirty with urine stains under her. Sometimes I clean her but not usually, I don't like to stress her out. Rats if sick will stop to clean themselves as well so you have to take in other factors.

We can't see any lump on the pic... honestly, I don't think I'd bring her in to a vet not as an emergency visit. I don't think it's pressing.

I have an apt booked for June 13th ..which was the next aviailable one ..I'll hold off on going in unless I see any other symptoms.

LOL Jo i think you were following suit? I think she also means july 13th for the appointment unless she has a time machine? day for typos? it seems to be happening all over

The lump is getting bigger..it was very tiny when I noticed it just a few days ago about the size of a small pea or smaller ..now you can see it when you hold her up and it's about the size 2 or 3 peas. It's movable, feels fluidy ...

I can't wait till July 13th for this (17 more days) ..I'll be calling the clinic tomorrow to get her in soon.

She is healthy so removal would be fine for her + a spay ..but I need your opinions on tumor removals in that area?

Inguinal lumps can grow quickly and be tricky to remove so I would get it removed sooner than later. Being that small, I don't know why she couldn't be spayed at the same time. Good luck :hugs: Hopefully it's a benign mammary tumour. (Get it aspirated first to make sure it is a tumour first though.)

My Mattie had a tumor removed twice (she was spayed with the first tumor) at 31 months and still it came back a third time. But it's growing very slowly. Good luck with your girl. Oh they were both mammary.

It's totally normal to worry!

::hugs:: It's just been a lot of worry for you in a very short time, is all.

I wish all the sickness would just go away :(
