Very long night for both of us, but I think Athena got more sleep than I did. :p We woke up at 3 and she'd moved closer to me, so I had to really stay still, which means I stiffen up overnight (I shift a LOT). I offered her some water from my finger and she was thirsty so i gave her a small dish and she drank and drank

She's still sore this morning, got her metacam and her torb injection with 3 cc's of ringers. She seems a lot brighter than last night, last night she was acting like she was going to die, but I think she was feeling very sorry for herself and is a very sensitive soul. None of this "hide symptoms from predators as long as you can" crap for her.

She's moving around more than last night, and I have a small one-level hospital cage setup for her for today. I will put the shirt I wore last night in there with her for added comfort.

I think she likes all this hand-feeding stuff...she ate her puffs avidly...I figured they were light and easy to hold. :D

Time to get up when I didn't bring her a puff immediately after she was done the other one :giggle:

Wish her much healing today :D

So we have had normal pee and poo, the Torb has taken the worst away, and for some reason she seems comfortable on her back. I think the injury was to her left hind quarter. You can see the bruising coming up on her foot in these, but there's no swelling of her feet, and its hard to tell if there's swelling to the muscle.

I want to give her belly kisses and hand feed that injured little bundle. :tearful:

Her pictures look better this morning then last night. Glad she is looking better.
Sweet little thing had us worried!

Give her all the air kisses she desires, unless you think that she has stepped up to actual kisses? If so, give her some of those :)

Don't worry, I may be going to work with wet hair and no makeup, but she's getting her handfeeding. She figured it out very fast.

She is also grooming a bit on her side.

Even using my "bad" hand (my right has to hold the camera) she grasped the concept very quickly

Within 1 syringe, she was a Pro... LOL

I'd watch out for her if I were you. She seems to be enjoying your attention waaaay too much! :giggle:

She looks so happy despite her injury, it's incredible! She really is aware of how lucky she is to have you as her mom!

She loves being babied...its when she's away from me she looks miserable again. LOL

I just called to see if Dr Munn is in the office tomorrow, just in case, but he's out until December the 8th so it looks like Athena and I are on our own. Dr Hammond is in, but the journey to the vet would be very painful for her and at this point I don't want to do it.

Last night I came home to Athena huddled in the base of the cage facing the corner. I didn't worry too much about it. Last night I noticed that she was squeaking when sage would bump her so I took Sage out to run all night and give them a break. This morning Athena was still there :( I pulled her out and saw her puffy fur and she seemed lethargic. I gave her some baby cereal and put her back.

Tonight, same thing, except she was crying and shuddering when I touched her :sad3: I pulled her out and gently examined her. I *think* she's injured her hind end somehow, she winces and cries when I touch her hind end closer to her rump. She's been given some metacam. Let's pray it helps her feel better :(

A video I took...

was just now able to hear the video. The poor little thing. That is the saddest little pain squeak. :sad3:

Butt and thigh injuries really hurt. I should know... I had one once and was limping for almost 2 months!

:hugs:  little Athena  :hugs:

Wasn't able to post to this before my internet died last night (supposedly they'll fix it tonight >.<)

Poor, poor wee Athena! But I'm SO glad she's doing better - I think you're right about the sensitive soul thing, but that just makes us all love her more. :)

Give her a gentle kiss (or a puff) for me?

She worsened. She may have hit her head and caused some swelling in her brain, so she is "out of her head" now. Left in her cage she scrambles around frantically, falling into her little water bowl over and over. She's calmest in my hands or near me, but even then IF I fall asleep she manages to scramble over and fall off the bed. I cannot watch her constantly and she's very unhappy :(
